Argh back home! I would have loved to stay, really... Well, it was Buxton first. It is a lovely town and the Opera House is amazing! So was the gig, an acoustic gig was just right for this venue. and these new songs were fabolous! Met Nerina, she signed the EP and I got a hug and a smile from her husband Andy as I had given her a gift. Highlight of Buxton (besides the Opera House): The bookstore. We actually had to buy a suitcase to have some place for all the new books we bought... I almost got the chance to attend the first London gig but it didn't work out... oh well. The second one was brilliant, the first time I saw her play with a band. And it just made me wonder why she isn't famous... in my opinion there is no filler song in her two albums and the songs that might make the third one are amazing. The support act (www.myspace.com/iamtheoreticalgirl) was good too and apparently one of the women who joined the singer Amy on stage had played in Zwickau before!!! How much more fun playing London must be. Met Nerina again, but actually talked to her husband much longer (who, after I had mentioned that I might want to study English language, said I could try to make it to Oxford... sure...! Oh and he didn't have a clue who John is but is now wiser And I had to correct his assumption that I was an avid James fan as I mentioned that I actually prefer the band and the support act. Also, he was surprised that I asked him for an autograph and said that no one ever wants to have his autograph... poor him!). By the way, Nerina proved her knowledge of the German language (German ancestry!) and signed with "Mit Liebe". Furthermore, she can pronounce my last name correctly, which no one ever can, and remembered it! And so did Andy!!! And I also met Antony, who set up a fanpage for Nerina, and who is one of the loveliest persons I've ever met. Once again noticed how easy it is to talk to British people... there were some Germans waiting in the queue for the merchandising stuff and I wanted to talk to them but they just didn't want to talk at all. Yet, I had a chat with many other fans, which was nice as I don't really have anyone to talk with about Nerina. Mentioning that, I hope I haven't bored you too much! Didn't see that much of Leamington as we didn't stay there long... but they have an excellent Italian resturant there which I would highly recommend! Also, the people in Leam are so kind and helpful. Well, we used the time to visit Warwick Castle and went to Stratford-upon-Avon - a good way to spend lots of money... Visited the Tate Modern in London... interesting. I particularly liked "Soap on stainless steel" (I think that's the title). Also, the bookstores in London made quite a profit Anyway, can't wait to go back to England. Surely will, at the latest in September, or maybe I will have a look at the University of Oxford before... Photos will be uploaded to myspace later... next week or so.

Oh, I love your review, thanks for telling us how it was. I'm so happy for you. Without a doubt, UK is a country where you can't go only once!

Thank you, gray, for taking the time to write such a detailed review/report. What an interesting read, not boring at all.
Great that you got to meet Nerina and her husband after the show, even better that they recognized you!! And you got to visit Leamington Spa, how nice!!
As for the suitcase you had to buy, ha ha, that's exactly what happened to me every time I've been there. London IS great when it comes to shopping (even better than NYC in my ever so humble opinion), I always bought tons of CD's, books, shoes etc. and I guess it's even more fun, now that the pound is looking rather weak!!
Looking forward to seeing your photos!

Oh yes CDs... didn't buy many this time - only Razorlight and Nerina's. But in one newspaper there was a CD which supports War Child, so I have some more songs to listen to now. And only a few t-shirts... although the Topshop in Oxford Street is really vast I only bought three items there.

Have you ever had one of those days where absolutely nothing seems to be going your way and you start to wonder WHY you are being punished...I am having one of those days today...
First...it's Monday Second...got up too late Third...spilled my coffee all down the front of my pants Fouth...boss called me into her office (I hate having to talk to the boss first thing in the AM on a Monday morning) Fifth...I left my lunch in the refrigerator at home...looks like it's gonna be a Hershey Kiss & Peanut M&M's chased by a Diet Coke lunch day.
So I need a stiff drink to escape the blubbering reality that is my Monday!
