bonjour Alexia welcome back to the board Good to see you're posting ;D and don't worry too much about your English, it looks pretty good to me ;D .. Besides, not many of us are native speakers anyways xx lydia Indeed, Lydia. It's kind of strange that most of us on this forum are no native speakers... but then, it's something an international heartbreaker like Mister Garrison has to cope with... might get even 'worse' if he becomes an international chartbreaker as well... ;D

Thanks for the welcome, Kerpea30! Yes, it's pretty funny and cool in here. I'm enjoying myself so far, except for embarassing myself with my Google story... We southern gals do like to make an entrance... LOL! I do have a technical question. Why do some of the posts have John's logo on the bottom with a saying? Also, what's the Karma thing? Sorry, I'm supposed to be introducing myself, aren't I? Sometimes I'm an architect, most times I'm a chocoholic but full-time I'm a music junkie. In my nexlt life, I'm going to be a bass player but in this one I have zero musical talent and my childhood piano lessons were absolute torture. In the meantime, my co-workers usually have to ask me to turn down my iPod headphones. I've loved music since the first time my Dad played Four Tops records for me when I was little. I am so excited to have discovered John's music. The last time I was this excited about finding a musician was when I discovered Jeff Buckley. My friends are getting tired of me forwarding them his YouTube links, so it's good that I have found some fellow Garrison addicts here... Hey, it's like AA for Johnny fans!

Welcome, missalabama, to the world of 'Garrison Addicts United' (... who would have thought that it shows... ;D ). Thank you so much for introducing yourself. I sooo can relate to your words regarding your excitement and love for John's music. He really is an outstanding musician, and I can honestly say that no other singer/songwriter has ever reached into my very soul and moved me as much as Mister Garrison did ( and continually does) with his songs and his singing. Bye the way, nice comparison to Jeff Buckley, that's quite a compliment I think, and so true! Oh, and your Google story wasn't embarrassing at all. As for the logos, some boardies (the talented ones ) have made their own banners and put them as their signatures (you can do this via 'modify profile', same goes for the sayings). Karma allows you to give other members ratings and to show e.g. approval (exalt) or disapproval (smite). Don't know how to explain it correctly, maybe someone else can do. A birthday (like yours today) is definitely a reason for karma+!!

AA for Johnny fans...LOL! That's great...perfect description!
I understand about being a southern girl...I lived in Charleston SC for 6 years...so I get it!
Thanks for introducing yourself! I can completely relate to your music obsesion...don't even get me started on The Bee Gee's...my college English professor didn't appreciate my 20 page paper on them...then there is James...now John...of course my list is endless and will increase exponentially over time! ;D

Thanks for the welcome. Glad to meet y'all!
Jade, I love the title for the Message Board, Garrsion Addicts United. You get some Karma back. Thanks also for the technical help and for the Birthday Karma, though my birthday is actually April 15, 1974 not April 1, 1901... I put that on my profile as my little joke that I'm really, really old! Sorry, y'all! That's something totally spastic that I would do. LOL! I felt as though I was born in 1901, when some 13-year-old boy called me Ma'am today. I really wanted to cry but I had mimosas, fried oysters and gritts for brunch instead! What was it that Bridget Jones said? "At least now that I'm in my 30s, I can hold my drink," as she fell out of a taxi. Kerpea, I love your BeeGees story! I think most people really like the Bee Gees but won't admit it. What I can't believe is that your paper was 20 pages long! I have never written a paper on them but I do like them too! "More than a Woman" is my favorite. Saturday Night Fever is one of my favorite movies... Travolta at his best. Oh Yes, Kerpea, you do understand the Southern thing, if you lived in Charleston. Charleston: there's nothing like it! I labsolutely love it! It's so pretty, the architecture is simply classic and I would love to do historic restoration there.
So anyway, back to why we're here: John's music. There is something about it that just really speaks to me too, Jade. The first time I heard, "Questions," by the end of the song, I was curled up in the fetal position on by bed crying like a baby, yet at the same time I didn't want the song to end! There is something about his voice that is truly haunting and he really has a way with arrangement that is quite unique and just absolutely lovely.

It was an English class...and we got to choose anything in popular culture...I had already done a paper on The Beatles and it just seemed like The Bee Gees would be a good topic...there are a whole bunch of published interviews with them which makes it easy to cite references...we even had to do an in-class presentation and I had their music going in the background...and every time I'd move into another period in their career the music would change to that era...it was a spectacular paper and presentation...but the good 'old professor didn't find it as amusing as I did...LOL! As for John's music...I TOTALLY AGREE!!!! ;D
