used to working in shifts, staying awake at night and sleeping at irregular hours due to work, I go for black... more serene/quiet than bright white... tho I do love the sunshine body or brains?

I will not choose between 2 human beings solely for the fact that would be comparing them and adding the same value to different aspects.... I know neither of them on that personal level, so therefore can't choose between them. I can only choose my preferences based upon how I feel about things or the things people stand for... but not between people.... and tea without milk... hot chocolate with wipped cream or without?

to clarify loraline.... i wasn't choosing between them as people...I was choosing between their MUSIC...for me PERSONALLY, it is a clear choice musically, and i was just curious about the opinions of others on this messageboard.....i didnt intend for anyone to attempt to make a judgement about their value as human beings

no offense intended, but perhaps the question should then have been put differently... perhaps just with the addition 'music : '

I find it even hard to compare John to James musically... IMO their styles are completely different... a different approach as well...

but for me easier the choice I think I said it somewhere before already.. where James' music and lyrics reach for the heart, Johns music and lyrics for me touch the soul In my life, I have had several moments, where I had to put my life and living life on hold. Building up your life from scratch more than once takes time and energy and on that level I can relate more to Johns lyrics. Hence the 'deep disguise' quote

yes, exactly loraline....i recall reading that particular post of yours and i agreed completely. and link, yes, they are definitely different styles....so i suppose we should further clarify and ask, which style do you prefer? i would venture to say songs of jb's like goodbye my lover are more akin to johnny's style...lyrically....and that's the style i definitely prefer

for me JBs 'Carry you home' and 'No bravery' hit home...
a few years ago, a friend got seriously ill, so her son had to take care of her. I also spent time with her, trying to bring some comfort in her life, tho we all knew it was fatal. We ( her son, his wife, a cousin and I) were with her when she died, a memory that comes back whenever I hear 'Carry you home'
Johns 'visiting time' tells the road to that moment....
'No bravery' reminds me of the reflection of hell when looking in the mirror. Some battles and wars are not fought in the outside world with weapons, but are fought within...
Walking on broadway is to me a song of survival and all the good and bad things coming with/from that

Because I know y'all won't let me say dipped in chocolate and then topped with cream, I'll stick with just the chocolate. YUM!
