Hi John, Thank you so much for doing this recent interview and telling us so many amazing facts about the 'Arrivals & Departures In The Making' of your new record, such an interesting read! Loving your approach of making music for the joy in the process and connecting with people rather than for the reasons of fame and fortune. It really shows in all that you do. Your integrity as an artist impresses me alot as I know the risk is all yours. Thank you for sharing your incredible talent, I truly hope that lots and lots of people get to experience DEPARTURES once it's released. Here's to your inevitable (commercial) success. It's gonna happen to someone - why not, for a change, to someone who really deserves it... so, it might as well be you! Love always, Jade xx P.S.: Hmm, I must be so not professional as I never thought it sounded like this.

Now I feel really guilty for commenting on an article that was addressed to the pros, which - obviously - I'm not (insert eye roll here)... still, I really loved this interview. Oh, and thanks to Google, YouTube and John Lennon, now I DO know a Moog from a Mellotron... I'm making progress after all... ;D "Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields... nothing is real and nothing to get hung about"... lalala Much love ~ J. xx

Here's to your inevitable (commercial) success. It's gonna happen to someone - why not, for a change, to someone who really deserves it... so, it might as well be you! Love always, Jade xx
To me it's a little more than sentimental pop! Perhaps I am biased and I'm definitely NOT a professional critic or musician but to me it is much, much more than that!!! It is something that speaks directly to my soul! CHEESY! I know! SORRY! I will drink a Jack and Coke to John's success and his driving a Ferrari! He certainly deserves it. Plus, I would like to see John driving a Ferrari rather than the typical Ferrari owners... Dirty, dirty old men going through a mid-life crisis and Miami drug dealers! Hmm, I must be so not professional as I never thought it sounded like this. I wouldn't call it meat and potatoes, either, Jade! Nor did it sound like one person played all of the instruments to me. Guess I don't have that professional ear though. Of course, I have heard criticism of Smashing pumpkins records about Billy Corgan playing all of the instruments on their records and I LOVE the Pumpkins still! So I'm probably not the one to ask... Anyway, my point was that I think that Cosmos sounds great! It's definitley not meat an potatoes to me. Though meat and potatoes are not necessarily a bad thing... I do Love a good steak and twice-baked potato. Now I feel really guilty for commenting on an article that was addressed to the pros, which - obviously - I'm not (insert eye roll here)... still, I really loved this interview. Oh, and thanks to Google, YouTube and John Lennon, now I DO know a Moog from a Mellotron... I'm making progress after all... ;D "Let me take you down, 'cause I'm going to Strawberry Fields... nothing is real and nothing to get hung about"... lalala Much love ~ J. xx Hey Jade, I'm guilty too! I Googled it also! At first, I thought he was talking about the band, The Moog. Hey John, I may not know my Moogs from my Mellotrons but at least I know my Garrisons from my Garretts.... www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hihp_JjdnsgHAAAHAHAAH! Sorry, John! Couldn't resists! I think that must be a Mellotron that John is playing on the "So Close" as seen in the making of Departures video??? Silly me, I thought it was an organ. So enough with my rambling, my something wonderful I have to say is: Like Jade, I really loved that interview too! It's my favorite one so far, evn if I am FAR from a professional!

Hi there, Mister Garrison,
Now, that was a really nice picture your french fans posted on your facebook page. I'd LOVE to see that kind of big city-light adverts featuring your album cover in Berlin, too... and all around the world. That would be a great way to support you on the winding road to Hitsville .... alone, it's hard to do without the resources that a giant entertainment conglomerate has. Not fair, not fair.
"My music is my biggest promo" - and I believe it goes somewhere incredible once the new record has entered our world... it has to!!!
If you say he's excellent, then he should be excellent. That recommendation came right on time. Just got the tickets and will go and see him tomorrow. A bit of a musical marathon... U2 in the afternoon, and Mister Benson at night... gotta kill the time somehow until your release party next week... ;D
Everything under control??? Keep the good vibes going... and see you in DEPARTURES!
OOO's and XXX's Jade

"My music is my biggest promo" - and I believe it goes somewhere incredible once the new record has entered our world... it has to!!! YES! Here's to John's success. Hmm... Wonder if "His mother told him "Someday you will be a man, And you will be the leader of a big old band. Many people coming from miles around To hear you play your music when the sun go down Maybe someday your name will be in lights Saying Johnny G tonight. Go go Go Johnny go Go go go Johnny go Go go go Johnny go Go go go Johnny go Go Johnny G " OK I've been waiting a long time to have the chance to use that one! Hey John...just wanted to let you know that I watched Keeping Up with the Kardashian’s last night...even though I can't stand them and would never have watched them otherwise...but it was worth it to hear your music...too bad there was no singing though...I think the lyrics are a huge part of your music but at least everyone got to hear a snipett of you.
Have fun tonight and I'll be on CD Baby tomorrow...it is kind of hard to believe it is finally here...wow!
Much Love

Hi John, just dropping by before leaving London to say how much I REALLY enjoy last night, what a great show, you did it so well (despite the guitar didn't stop when you wanted LOL), it was a pity it was so short, but I would live last night and I'd buy another 6 copies of Departures to see you on stage again like last night. And aftershow meeting was sooooooooooooo kind of your part and everyone's: Pernille, Pembers, Pete, Karl, Paul... Thanks so much for bringing (enough) Departures copies, for all your kind words, for all your patience with autographs, pics and questions, and for making one of my best nights in my whole life. Thanks A LOT! Cannot wait to see you again next month again! ;D Your concerts are so addictive, you know that, do you?

Dear John, I have just spent the afternoon babysitting all the new little Garrison babies... They are ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! How proud you must be of them (and your family of you)! I cannot pick just one favorite... It is just too hard! "Alexander and Annabel" has stolen my heart!! WOW!! Oh, and "I Want You!" What can I say? There are no words! The first time hearing that was like love at first sight or in this case hear! As Lucy said, "I'm crying on my dancing shoes!" Serious lump in the throat and goose bumps with "Go!" There's nothing to say but "Go" breaks my heart into a million pieces! "2nd For the First Time" is so sweet and gentle! I love the little surprise "Wa-Was" (Yes, that's my little layman's term for the chords at minutes 1:46-1:48 and 2:44-51 3:00-3:03) and your oooohs (2:26-2:31) I love too. Plus, I thought I had copyright on "we were right just bad timing I suppose"... Has to be the story of my life. How do you have the uncanny knack for saying what's in my head and I never say? THANKS! I guess it's universal life experiences that your lyrics tap into but that's what I love about your musc. It may be specific to you but it is also something that a lot of us can also relate to. "There's nothing more to say" except congratulations on your lovely work! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Your Album made my Day! Missy XOXO P.S. ;D Your concerts are so addictive, you know that, do you? SOOOO TRUE!!!!!! They're like crack! I think I need another fix!

Hi John,
It's more than two weeks now since the arrival of Departures in my life. I haven't stopped listening ever since and it feels like living on a different planet somehow. Each day starts with "Let's Run" coming out of the speakers and ends with "2nd For The 1st Time" enjoyed responsibly (I've heard that before, Cheers! ) trough my headphones. As a result, your music is all up in my head, all up in my car, all day, every day. So glad to have the album now after all this time spent waiting for the real thing, and that I can listen to the song cycle in its entirety wherever and whenever I want. It's such a great record, beautiful beyond all imagination and, what I didn't think possible, indeed a departure from the last one.
When the album ends I'm always like 'I want more', then put the CD in from the beginning for another trip through the cosmos (yes, that's 'cosmos' actually, no replacement here ;D) of musical/sonic infinity, moving through a variety of moods track by track... feel, cry and leave again. Extremely intense and pretty mind-blowing plus I'm convinced those hooks that keep on playing in my head day and night are responsible for a contagion of healthy germs in these flu-driven times. The songs on your record are all so different, yet all gorgeously performed and produced.
What else can I say, other than THANK YOU so much.
I heart you, I soul you, I sing you, I dance you, and sometimes even around my own tears. Blurgh, cheesy... but true. Like everything else I've ever said how I feel about your music. I'm bad at faking it... just like you (though I wish I was as unafraid to be emotionally honest as you are, and had the ability to put love and life into such inspiring lyrics and compose such beautiful melodies out of those 12 chromatic tones like you).
Hope you (and your loved ones are doing just fine. Much love Jade XOXO
PS: Make sure there aren't too many people around when you switch on your Christ'mess' light - for health and safety's sake. Loud is the new silent, not sure what happened to holy, though.

Hey John,
I'm one of those who have heard your music (live on Saturday and constantly on CD), and I know I know I know that you have the voice and musical talent to move your listeners. You move me like no other. Departures is indeed an album full of songs that soar and shimmer in their emotional intensity and that's just one of the many reasons why I can't stop listening to your recent masterpiece. Sooo GREAT (if not really surprising to me) that Britsound Radio chose my personal #1 album of the decade as their #1 album of the year. Congratulations, this news really made my day and I'm as happy as you are. Your new record truly deserves... YOU deserve... more than anyone on the planet.
Thanks again for the great show at the Regal Room, for the beautiful music, the thrill and the goosebumps, the smiles and all your kindness. I'm really looking forward to seeing you 'live and in person' again at your upcoming gigs next year.
Wishing you and your loved ones a very merry X-Mas and all the very best in 2010. Here's to the music, here's to life, here's to YOU!
Always listening Jade XOXOXO
