There will likely be a couple NYC dates in August. John's looking to do a solo gig and a full band gig to launch the album here in August. But nothing is booked yet. Sounds good to me! WE are ready - So come on, bring it on!!!

Are there only possibilities of gigs in NYC? No more possible European dates?

Now you threw that name in like a blow with a club You know we do our research. So, then it has been done in the UK I'm assuming. Mr Flack seems to be related to Karl Brazil somehow, and if I got that right, he has worked with James Morrison recently. I hope it isn't a bad sign that he's got only 12 friends on MySpace... just kidding of course... Thanks for your reply!

John has worked with him or knows him through Karl I think and Richard heard the songs we did and has been doing a lot of mastering recently and offered to do John a favor he couldn't turn down and it turned out great.

I noticed that in the Making of departures video, numbers 11 & 12 on the mixing desk were "Synths- weird" What's the weird stuff? Is that the clicking tin can or the hidden message on "Go?" Speaking of which, if we play it backward, will it say "God is dead?" Kidding...
My next question is most likely really stupud but I know nothing about mixing desks or how cds actually work, so here goes... I noticed that on the desk you wrote notes for Left and right... Does that mean that those things will actually come out of the left and right speakers?
The building where the Fluxivity studio is is a great old building! Looks like it was an old factory or warehouse converted to offices. The arched windows and old brick are beautiful. Do y'all know anything about the history of that building? Sorry for the dorky question... Historic restoration is my speciality.

That desk had i think 24 available channels when we mixed on it, and on some songs we would have an upwards of 80 tracks of audio so I would submix groups of like-minded stuff into stereo submixes. So "Synths/Weird" are infact all the synths and the other weird bits that john or me or usually tom created. The cans are definitely not weird enough to be there, they would've shown up on John's vocal track because he was singing when he began goofing off well into the fade. Many amazing things happen after the track fades. Some of the best bits are there... The stuff at the end of "Go" is not backwards and it does not say "G-d is dead." I will leave it at that, because it's a journey folks must make on their own. My next question is most likely really stupud but I know nothing about mixing desks or how cds actually work, so here goes... I noticed that on the desk you wrote notes for Left and right... Does that mean that those things will actually come out of the left and right speakers? Yeah all that means is that the channel that says L is only in the left speaker and R is only the right however, the individual elements coming out those two channels can pan between them side to side a little or a lot. something in mono or up the middle is equal in both L and R channels...basically any single element swees between the Left and the Right smoothly, i just put L/R on the ones to remind me that I've split those channels and I'm panning in the computer not on the desk. The building where the Fluxivity studio is is a great old building! Looks like it was an old factory or warehouse converted to offices. The arched windows and old brick are beautiful. Do y'all know anything about the history of that building? Sorry for the dorky question... Historic restoration is my speciality. It's an old body shop illegally built where they used to chop cars, the owner got the place 9+ years ago and built the rooms out, but yeah it's in an area of Brooklyn that has some grime still under it's nails. Perfect for our vibe!

Great questions and so are the answers. Really interesting to know! The stuff at the end of "Go" is not backwards and it does not say "G-d is dead." I will leave it at that, because it's a journey folks must make on their own. You bet we'll make that journey!! I'm in for the challenge fired with enthusiasm, I just need the CD!! I for one really like those sweeping sound elements, the more the better. As for the new record, I can only speak of "I Leave On Friday" as that's the only track I can listen to off the PC and I love how some of the sound elements just appear on the left or on the right. Absolutely amazing, brilliant job! I'm convinced things like that work best when listening through headphones and that's why I actually prefer them to speakers, even though we're equipped with a rather nice sounding Bose HiFi System - amp/woofer and 5 speakers that send the sound into the room at different angles - (and if I'm lucky I even get it to work on my own as I'm a bit dimwitted when it comes to this). Ok, to cut a long story short, what I actually wanted to say is THANXXX for your reply.
