Go
I see you hanging on by your fingernails You look up to me
Please don’t give your love to me. I will lose it Please don’t give your time to me. I will waste it
You reach up to me. I just watch you fall
Please don’t give you love to me. I will lose it Please don’t give your time to me. I will waste it
Go. Run.

'Go' has to be the most beautiful song ever, sounds almost like a part of a symphony only sweeter. Emotionally hardcore (is that a word?) - if this song doesn't keep everyone who hears it completely enthralled, then I don't know what does. I've been listening to 'Go' about 50 times by now (added it to my profile) and still cannot believe how great this song is, simply out of this world. Ultra beautiful (the music) and ultra sad (the lyric). As for John's vocals, I think there's a different, much darker tone to his voice than in most any Garrison song I have ever heard... makes the song cut even deeper. I'd already buy the record just for this song. Well, since my last post on Monday I've been listening to 'Go' at least another 50 times. This song blows me away again and again and all the superlatives in the dictionary cannot describe how good it is and how beautiful. Have to admit that if I had the words "Please don't give your love to me. I will lose it...." sung to me the way he does, it would make me want to do anything but go, quite the opposite. I wonder if it worked in the case of the person it was written for. (Give me an 'r', Mister Garrison, it's missing in the 3rd line... )

I just looked at the play coult and it was 509. I think I have played it about 250 of those times! I can't seem to find the word to describe what it is about his voice that is so incredible. When he says "I will lose it," in that low voice, I just want to cry... The way he sings the word go... I wouldn't want to go either!!! His voice has an incredible range... so low in this song but then he really hits those high notes in so close... Just lovely!

I've added 'Go' to my page, so I guess my plays don't even count on his page (that seems really busy lately, I still can't access all songs at all times, sometimes it stops all of a sudden within the song which is annoying, but then, great that obviously many people visit his profile and listen to the new songs). I totally agree on what you said about his voice! Hardly ever heard such an amazing unique voice and such an incredible range. Just pure vocal perfection! *sigh*

I just can't stop listening to this song, still no words to describe how beautiful it is. Beats everything I have ever heard as far as Garrison songs go... to call it a masterpiece comes not even close. It's funny how we all describe it differently... I would not really call it a "little tune"... I think it's f*cking epic... huge and delicate at the same time. Still trying to figure out what is being said by the voice in the background towards the end of the song. Does anybody know or am I hearing voices no one else can hear (which usually isn't a good sign )

Kinda relieved that I'm not the only one who hears it. I think it is John singing/speaking, and the only thing I seem to get is something like "forever gone", might be wrong though. High time I got the physical CD my HiFi is so desperately waiting for!! It's just not the same to be listening via that cyber connection, as I can't turn up the volume as much as I want to without having the sound completely overdriven or whatever they call it in English.

Really intrigued by the secret message within this song. Today I thought I heard something like "cause you promised me, and I believed"... pretty dreamstealers, loving it!!

Ok, this one is really intense for me... everytime, tears are not so far away ;o) did someone can tell me what John says at the end - after all the "go"- when there is just piano and violins?
