Good news! www.roughtrade.com/albums/93008SATELLITES SAINT SAVIOUR Most bands decide to release a live album once crowned veterans of the touring circuit. Few do so after only 4 small gigs in London. But faced with delivering his songs live, Johnny Vic - who is Satellites - decided to re-arrange them for a simple set-up of drum-machine, piano, cello, harmonium, guitar and a 16-piece choir... Just to see how it worked in a room. Not just any room, but the beautiful North London Church of Saint Saviour's. Here is a document of a single evening's performance, with accompanying films available online. Released originally as an exclusive bonus disc with the Rough Trade Album of the Month, Satellites.02, and since receiving calls from fans for its official release, Johnny decided to mark a first-ever European tour with a re-package of Satellites Saint Saviour. Featuring re-orchestrations of songs from both Satellites.01 and 02, this live set ends with a song from his forthcoming third album Satellites 03: Loving Amongst Lost Angels, stripped back to piano, recorded after midnight when the film crew had long since left. |
