Hey devlin...it could be worse...we don't have but one major league team here...you guys have NFL, MLB, and NASCAR...not too shabby...LOL!
Oh...one more concert for me this weekend...not only will I be going to see Rascal Flatts Friday...I'm going to take a blast to the past and see Loverboy Saturday...I just love going to see all these washed up old 80's bands on a hot summer night at an outdoor venue...beer and music...it's all good!

LOL! That's going to be a blast from the 80s, Kerpea! Can't wait to hear about the Loverboy concert!
Rascal Flatts... That should be interesting. I'm not that into country music but going to country music concerts can be interesting purely for the sheer entertainment value of people watching... I like to see the mullets... I don't know what is funnier, the female mullet or the kiddie mullet... BTW, have you ever wondered how Bono was introduced to the Mullet?
There are no professional sports in Alabama or Mississippi... The ATL Braves are the closest professional team... I guess that's why SEC college football is so big in the south... So when I lived in Miami for 5 years, I was amazed at the Marlins and Dolphins fans... They are really into it! I know Florida is technically more South than Alabama but culturally it it an entity unto itself... especially Miami! LOL!

I would GLADLY trade the NFL, MLB and NASCAR for one U2 concert!!!!!! missalabama: Lol at your reference to kiddie mullet! When I took my kids to see Santa in December, the family in front of us had a little boy (about 3 yrs old) with a mullet!!!! I almost died!!! I didn't know whether to laugh.......... or cry!!

I must confess...I work out at the Oklahoma State Fair every fall...and for those two weeks I can get a lifetime of mullets, toothless rednecks, and just plain interesting po-dunk people...I am in Oklahoma...so I'm sure you can imagine....yee haw! LOL!

If your belt buckle has a rebel flag on it and is the size of a dinner plate, you might be a redneck!!!! Speaking of dinner plates, have you ever seen the old SNL cheerleader skit when they went to cheerleading camp? They went swimming but Will Ferrell kept his shirt on. They kept asking him why he wouldn't take off his shirt and he said, "Because my nipples are the size of dinner plates."

Well while everyone was is Copenhagen I was in Miami, OK trekking ankle deep in a muddy field to see Rascal Flatts...I'm not a HUGE country fan but I have to say that they put on one hell of a show! Darius Rutker (Hootie & The Blowfish) opened...he was pretty good and sang some classic Hootie songs (in which I was screaming "Go Hootie Go!"). All pics are posted on facebook.
This was my girlfriends 30th birthday present, and as we drove the three hour trip up there she was blasting Rascal Flatts on the car stereo...when I would go to turn it down so I could say something she looked at me and said..."Keri, you don't understand, Rascal Flatts & Kenny Chesney are MY John Garrison and James Blunt"...so being the good friend I am...I let her have her moment... ;D

I have heard of Miami of Ohio University but I didn't know there was a Miami, OK! LOL! Sounsds like a fun girls' weekend! You're a great friend, Kerpea... I don't know if I would have been a good enough friend to go to Rascal Flatts! LOL! Kidding! I'm glad it was a good show. I've never seen Hootie and The Blowfish or Darius Rucker solo. I love that you were yelling "Go Hootie." I once saw an interview of him where he was saying that wherever he goes, people call him Hootie because most people don't realize that his name is Darius... LOL! Anyway, sounds like you had a nice, fun gals' weekend... A consolation for not getting to go to Copenhagen... Even though I was at the beach, I spent most of the weekend drinking "Pink Panty Pull-downs" and wishing I was in Copenhagen instead...

@ missalabama...Miami, OK has a population of like 2. It's a very small po-dunk town. But one of the members of Rascall Flatts is from there and every couple of years they literally set up a stage in the middle of a field and do a show for his hometown crowd. Some people drove from Texas to see them there because this was a special deal and not their normal stage show because it was Joe Don's hometown.
(gotta love the name Joe Don...LOL...God, I just love living in the South...LOL!)

OMG, ROLF @ Kerpea... Don't get me started on small towns... The town where I grew up is small but it's so close to Birmingham that I usually just tell people that I am from Birmingham to save the conversation of trying to explain where in the world Gadsden, AL is. Gotta love the name Joe Don... Reminds me of the character "Ray Don" from Designing Women... HaHa! ONLY in the South!!! Speaking of the South, I never told y'all why my screen name is missalabama other than the obvious fact that I was born and raised in Alabama... I lived in Miami for 5 years and evidently none of my friends there (who were all either Yankees or South Americans) had ever run across a southerner before... Sometimes I felt like a zoo animal when they would ask me to say the word y'all. Anyway, they called me "Miss Alabama," "Alabammy" or "Bama" and I guess it kind-of stuck with me...

I completely understand the nickname...I have lived in OK for 6 years and I lived in South Carolina for 6 years...being from Illinois (or as the southerners say...from the other side of the Mason Dixon line) they ALL call me Yankee Girl or they just say "Oh, you are a Yank"...even my inlaws (who are from Texas) call me a Yank.
