I don't really have the time to read through all the topics... but I can tell you're all nuts... always writing so much ;D ROFL @ KATI! SOOO TRUE!!! WE ARE NUTS! OK, I won't speak for the others but I am nuts, anyway! My name is Missy and I am nuts for John Garrison's music! ;D I just can't think of ANYTHING to get my dad... anyone else having that problem? EVERY year it's the same: I never know what to get him. He doesn't really listen to music, he isn't reading books, we have so much wine at home that something like that isn't an option either... any ideas? It is had to buy for men, especially Dads. I always do ties. I find it's the easiest. P.S. Glad you're back, Kati! ;D

YOOO HOOO! ANYONE HERE? OLLY OLLY OXEN FREE!!!! Hey Devlin, Haven't seen you here lately! Miss ya 'round the board! Oh, hey, thanks! I've actually been lurking around every few days, I just haven't been logging in or adding to the conversations. I've had a week of caring for sick children followed by a week of snow days and we are definately knee deep in the sibling rivalry stage! ............John, if you're reading this,.....just remember, ONE IS ENOUGH! Keep saying it over and over .................! Not really, just joking because actually, some people have huge families and seem to do fantastic! I'm just not one of thoes talented parents I guess! I've been told that they will just grow out of this stage eventually, ...........Yea!!!

Most men are hard to buy gifts for...and father's are that much harder. I am not sure if they have gift cards over there but those are always a great option. When I used to buy for my parents I'd get a gift card or gift certificate from their favorite restaurant so next time they went out to eat it was one me. LOL!! I usually buy those gift cards for my dad too!!! But not this year, he has forbidden me to buy any presents for him or the rest of the family because I'm unemployed. But I'm going to buy little presents for my 4 sisters anyway I have to think what to buy first, hmmmm... Any suggestions? What are you expecting to receive as presents these Christmas?

Glad to hear you're happy in Madrid, Lucy! There's not much snow here... shame. Though I wouldn't mind if there's no snow until the 24th. But I'm going to buy little presents for my 4 sisters anyway I have to think what to buy first, hmmmm... Any suggestions? What are you expecting to receive as presents these Christmas? I'm totally bad at buying presents, so no suggestions I'm afraid! I still need Christmas presents... oh dear... I have no idea when to buy them. Well, I told my parents that I don't want anything as the trip to England is the only thing I want. I guess their wish is that I'll make it back to Germany in time for Christmas My dad has even bought a navigation system and wants me to take it with me so I won't get lost. But I was to write a wish list anyway and came up with an expressive number of books, songbooks and CDs I'd like to have.

P.S. Glad you're back, Kati! ;D I've heard this sentence far too often within the last weeks/months... I promise to do better in the future ;D Most men are hard to buy gifts for...and father's are that much harder. I am not sure if they have gift cards over there but those are always a great option. When I used to buy for my parents I'd get a gift card or gift certificate from their favorite restaurant so next time they went out to eat it was one me. It is had to buy for men, especially Dads. I always do ties. I find it's the easiest. ok, I see we all agree on that ;D I still don't know what to get him... it's not that I can ask him because I'll only get a stupid, funny answer anyway my Dad had to laugh about the tie thing missy... it's actually a good idea BUT If there is ONE thing on this earth my Dad absolutely HATES... it's ties *rofl* If he wears on then it's because Mom made him ;D I usually do gift cards for my Dad but I decided NOT to do that this year and I'm trying really hard to stick to that I'll have to look around the internet for DVDs or anything like that... maybe I'll find a good comedy dvd... What are you expecting to receive as presents these Christmas? Don't know... I'm so bad at this... It was so much easier to come up with a list of things I wanted to have when I was child... The only thing I bought so far is a new snowboard jacket that one of my grannies will get me for christmas... and well... that's about it... edit: just read about Madrid... did you finally move? Did you move in with your boyfriend ? No job just yet ?

Hey Devlin, Glad you're back too!
Glad you're in Madrid and doing well, Lucy!
LOL @ your tie story, Kati! I guess it depends on whether the man actually wears ties... Though I would say men can never wear ties too much!

I have books for my parents, a travel pillow for my little little brother (he's coming from Beijing and he'll probably be happy to have it when he'll go back to China), and for me, I've already bought a new fantastic camera lens (that I'm going to take on Saturday!!!!) ;D For my middle little brother, I don't know what to take as he's in New York and he's not going to come back home for xmas I wanted to send him a good bottle of French wine but I'm not sure that it's going to arrive safe...

This year I've decided to get presents Only 4 the Children. I t's getting 2 expensive as we need 2 care for Henry's / My husbands Family and My Family in Hungary 2 as we'll be going over ther on Sat, and I don't like to carry tonns of stuff! So, nephews got cars and clothes as usual, niece got a very pretty frilly dress........+ a lovely book. Cousins in this country got cash as I didn't want 2 duplicate the gift vouchers from last year+ a lovely diary each. Of course we got my daughter's best friens, all of them, so they've got some crafty stuff to make up.........+ books+ knee lenght stockings as my daughter has managed to bring it into fashion within the school.. Neighbours, family friends, homemade Christmas Hampers& fruit baskets, aah and the girls have made 2 Christmas table decorations/ wreaths with misletoe, holly etc, which waits in the shed as we need 2 preserve them till Thurs.
Made lots of Christmas cakes, muffins for the Christmas fayre, have a guess what I was destined to sell again, year in and out...........the cake stall!!!!!!!!!! It's always a very big temptation

So I've ended up making MANY MORE HOMEMADE cHRISTMAS HAMPERS, MAYBE I'LL TAKE IT UP AND TRY SELLING THEM ON E-BAY!!!!!!!
Good job that I've spent the money beforehand as I would have been feeling guiltyer if I've would have done them aft Wedn when we've found out that my Husband Henry've been made redundant aft 11.5 yrs with half of his comp and there is end of the line for eery1 else 2, who are on current deathrow.., thanx to the lovely american company who have given the best contributor in the U.k. TITLE of a software progr to them and now stabbing them in the back!! It's happened in France to but as they're a bigger company, they're manage to absorb it without any casualties and they'll sue the americans, which'll be the end of them tooooooo!! 4 good!!!!!!!!!! THEY'VE JUST DUG THE DICH UNDERNEATH THEMSELVES AND NOW THEY'LL FALL INTO IT! It's the timing, the criterias and the way it was done I'm disagreeing with!!!!!!! Now You All can see that I'm sesparately in need of a quick fix from John and the lovely Boardies!!!! COUNTING THE DAYS DOWN AND WILL SEE YOU ALL ON SAT AT 6PM AT THE REGAL ROOMS!!!!N xxxxxxxx

nab1973: So Sorry to hear about your recent bad news! I hope you and yours will be alright! I know what you mean about "the way it was done"! It seems like there are no ethics left in business today! I don't understand what these CEOs and executives are thinking! It's appalling, all the things I keep hearing about on the news recently! The unscrupulous actions are not just limited to the American owned companies! It seems to be a global epidemic of a lack of business ethics! The one that horrifies me the most is the Chinese company that knowingly put poisonous substance into infant milk formula, to save money on costs, knowing the whole time that they were going to be killing little babies! As if they don't know that it's possible to make money without actually hurting anyone!!!!!!!!
