Happy Hour is my favourite song as well, it's the most amazing song I've heard in a long, long time... Abdicate is a close second... but they are all GREAT!!!!

I don't think I can cut it back to 1 or 2 songs..... From his Budapest time, 'calm of the water' is good.. 'high on getting by' brings back bittersweet memories, 'public apology' is an unusual lovesong and after reading Golans story, 'walking on broadway' got an extra dimension... 'when I fall' from the red fridge time actually is pretty good too and the abdicate sessions have some good tracks as well, 'deep disguise' being one of them.. and not to forget 'time waits for no one' (cello) sounds great too. and a lot of others I won't mention now....

Definitely "Abdicate"! "Happy Hour", "Testimony" and "Walking on Broadway" are favourites as well.. "When I fall" of course and Budapest favourites so far are "Life gets in the way", "Is this the best it gets", "Say something wonderful" and "Amber glow" and many more...

I was lucky enough to hear him do 2 new ones...Names could change I am sure, but one was "Alexander and Annabel," and the other one was um, not sure of the proper name, but am calling it "Cold Coffee".

'Below the Radar' is my favourite of the day... Speaking of his earlier songs (are we actually supposed to? ) there are quite a few I've been falling in love with, far too many to name them all here. If I had to pick only three (very hard really), it would have to be 'Any Old Story', 'Underline' and 'Boy Cries Wolf'.

Now that we're talking about these songs, I do also love 'Ordinary People'. Couldn't get it out of my head for the whole day

If I had to pick only three (very hard really), it would have to be 'Any Old Story', 'Underline' and 'Boy Cries Wolf'. I am sure John would let us know if he didn't want us to talk about his (and budapests) earlier work. The way I see it, those songs are part of his becoming the man and musician he is today. And as time passes, we tend to look differently at things we did in the past, maybe wish we had or hadn't done things, but still they are part of our lives. Thus, denying or avoiding the subject would (to me) be denying part of who he is today So I don't see a problem with talking about his Budapest songs... But again, if John doesn't want us talking about that music, I am sure he will let us know

;D
I don't mind one little bit. They are all my babies and I will always love them. Some may be prettier than others and some may be naughtier, but they are all loved.
Thank you to everyone who has brought my rather sorry forum to life. It really means a lot to me that you all are talking about my songs so favorably. It am really touched by it all i promise.
Thanks again and please keep coming back
Love
John ;D ;D ;D
