Hi John, Thought it would be nice if you had a thread where we can send you a personal message. I hope that's alright with you - If not or if you'd like to change the title, please feel free to do so or delete. I always wanted to thank you for creating 'Above the Cosmos' which is a genuinely great album I've been completely falling in love with. The same goes for many, many songs from your Budapest days (and also for one of your newest songs *sigh*). Discovering you and your musical secrets truly is an amazing journey. I've been listening to nothing else but your songs almost 24/7 for more than three weeks now. Your voice is unbelievably beautiful and so is your music, I just can't get it out of my head (and actually I don't want to). There 's so much in the lyrics you wrote that I can relate to and I'm always like 'How does he know'. The way you turn your thoughts into such captivating songs fascinates me again and again. I've been hooked on James Blunt's music for the last two years and still love what he's doing. To be honest, I never thought that any other artist could ever come close or even go beyond - well, you did. You've got me on my knees and it sure feels great!!! Apart from listening to your own stuff I saw and heard you bassing for Blunty, twice at the Hammersmith Apollo in January and then in Berlin and Hamburg in March. I was really impressed and thought that you have great stage presence, and by the way, this 'beating thing' during 'I really want you' sounded pretty cool. Meeting you briefly after two of the shows was just the icing on the cake (thanx again for signing your CD's). I'd be over the moon if you played a Solo gig somewhere in Europe anytime soon, though I know the odds are against me and it's probably not going to happen due to that crazy schedule of yours. Anyway, thank you for the music, John! Never let it reach the end... Love always, Jacqueline xx PS: I could imagine you're a wee bit scared right now... As you can see, I'm trying to catch you everywhere on the worldwideweb.... no stalking I promise - it's all about the music... all about the notes you don't play and the words you don't say... PPS: Oh, and in case you wondered, I'm German, that's why my English is so horrible.

Hello John, I know that lady above me. She's a wonderful person and I took two lovely photos of you and her in Hamburg. March was a great month... I went to see James three times only to discover you and your amazing music. I was immediately hooked, listened to the same few songs on your MySpace page for hours and couldn't get my hands off the play button. Meeting you twice definitely made it even more special and I'm endlessly grateful for the journey I went on a few weeks ago as it helped me to overcome many of the problems I had in the past few months. I'm still regretting I didn't order this gem, which is your CD, earlier as I can't stop listening to it now. Your voice is very moving and intense, your lyrics reach me on so many levels and I can't get the music out of my head for hours. So, John, if you ever come to Europe for a solo gig I'll do my best to be there! I couldn't bear the thought of missing it. Thanks for the great time, being part of the journey, and, of course, thanks for the music. You brighten my days! See you soon... (in October at the latest if you're staying with Blunty!) Lots of love, Marlina xx P.S.: I still don't know whether you liked the chocolate and I'm feeling a bit guilty because it looked so battered after the show in Hamburg.

the thread says SAY SOMETHING WONDERFUL.. but reading the above, it may as well be called "Say something personal" The first time your name came up in my screen was at the beginning of this year, when I was reading through the MK book. I noticed a name I didn't recognize, decided to check it out and I ran into your music. When listening to James' music, it seems like he is reaching out to touch one's heart. When listening to your music, there are so many things in the lyrics I can relate to, that it feels like reaching for the soul. New York is a place of magic to me. When I first went there 11 years ago, the city was alive, I felt alive yet I didnt have the energy back then to dive into the city (had just gotten out of hospital back then). Ever since, I have always had the feeling I would go back one day and live my own NY-experience. Your gig on april 10th was the final incentive I needed to book a plane and just go. I read Golans story a few days before I left, and walking on broadway got another dimension for me. Broadway for me is and will probably always be the world of shine and glitter and awareness of life on the surface, but it will also contain the more invisible dark side of stories that remain in the shadow. your music did something to me and tho I find it hard to describe what it is exactly, I feel lucky I found your music and all that comes with it lots of love lydia

Thank you all so much for your lovely messages. I am incredibly touched by everything written above. the whole reason I make music is to try and get through to people with my songs and it would appear from your comments that I am. So thank you all from the bottom of my heart. This is what music is all about for me.
Lots of love
John

Where do I start? I've been following Mr Blunt almost 3 years now. I was one of his first US fans, and did all I could to get him over here. Nov of 05 til now I have seen him, and the band 28 times. So when I heard Malc was leaving, it was sad. Then I was told by the UK lot, that you are "eye candy". Saw ya in NYC, and Philly, and liked that you can be heard. Then I stumbled on your music. Not many musicians stop me in my tracks. You did. There is something about you....can't put my finger on it...but something. SO glad I got to see you in NYC. Born and raised outside the city, I just don't take advantage of it. I will however be there if ya give me a heads up. Thank you for sharing your heartache, and thoughts with us all. I have been there, and it's nice to be able to put your CD in and say, "This is what I am feeling right now". Keep doing what you are doing John....I am a fan....as long as you make music!
Love ya
Ellen.....

oooh nice idea!
I too was upset when I heard Malc was leaving as he was always so sweet to me when I met him, but now I realise we didn't lose a member of the family we gained one! The album is wicked, been listening to it for a good few months now and still love it and have loved seeing you become more comfortable onstage with the boys. I was in Glasgow on the first night and you looked terrified! Then we terrified you in the bar and I turned up at 6 more gigs (and another one in Paris!) so I'm amazed you've stuck around! Its been lovely to talk to you, see you dance to Jive Talking (we see EVERYTHING!!!), working your right arm *ahem* and can't wait for October!
*mwah*

Hi John ... must be a pretty amazing dance performance of Jive Talking if it got you the bass playing job... just kidding, it's all about shrimp-catching ability I know... Thank you so much for your reply, sooo sweet!!! You've quite a way with words, makes you all the more special. When did you write that??... in the middle of the Asian night???... early morning when you were actually supposed to sleep???... however, such a kind gesture!!! Enjoy the rollercoaster you're currently on... Lots and lots of love Jacqueline xx PS: Have you ever been thinking of Red Fridge when the chorus of 'High' comes on at Blunty's shows???... You were first, right???... Just wondering, you don't have to answer...

Hey John, This is my first message on your boards.. I can't believe i didnt join your forum before! Your music is great, i love "Walking on Broadway". When i listen to it, it just gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day, but not annoying like most songs are when they get stuck in your head, but on a nice way. Thanks for making such great music!
I'm looking forward to October so much... I'll see you and James then in Oberhausen!
xx Lisa
p.s.: Marlina really cracks me up on msn recently... It's your fault, she's raving about your songs all the time! (I think she misses you...)

Hello John,
Well I'm not good to couch what I actually want to say, so just a few words: Thank you for your beautiful music, it really is something special and lyrics I can relate to... your songs really touch me like very few others do. I can't wait to see you playing a solo gig one day, that would be wonderful.
Well, see you in October (hm, it is so long till that)!!! Jenny xx

Hello John, I've heard a few of your songs and they are fantastic! You are a very talented individual. Your ability to transcribe a range of thoughts and emotions into a piece of music that people from all walks of life can relate to is amazing. Keep up the good work! Hope to see you in Australia @ Blunty's concert. Take care!

Hey John, I just got a message from a lovely lady who was able to send you a big hello from me before the show in Auckland yesterday (was it yesterday? I can't really cope with the different time zones... argh). Sorry about your bad head though... hope it gets better soon xx
