Thought I would start a thread about all thigs related to the guys in Budapest other than John: Have y'all seen the last bit of Pembers's Music section on Myspace??? Any man who has the guts to admit that he likes Billy Joel is pretty cool in my book!!!! ;D ;D ;D "Ooooh, Uptown Girl... Can't afford to buy her pearls!"... When I was a kid, my best friend and I made up a dance to Uptown Girl! ;D Gotta love the 80s! Though Pembers is probably referring to his late 70s stuff!

Hey, *ignorant speaking* I didn't know that Uptown Girl singer was Billy Joel! I love that song, and my 19-years-old sister more than me LOL Talking about Pembers.... Has anyone watched "Stronger" videoclip (Broken Dolls)?? Good idea about this new post, Missy

Just watched the video... Thanks, Lucy! It's nice... It took me a minute to realize that that acutally was Pembers on Keys... He looks totally different with the long hair. I'm used to seeing him like this... That's what I mean, LOL! You have to see him twice to know that he's Chris! I love that video, I don't know how many times I voted it with 5 stars LOL I never get tired of watching it, not only because of the song, it's Budapest, and it's Razzmatazz, I love that venue!!!! Southern Fried Records - is it the records company that John loves so much?

Southern Fried Records - is it the records company that John loves so much? LOL! Double take... It really is hard to tell it's him. So if Pembers ever becomes super famous and needs to hide from the press, he won't have to wear singlasses or hats, he can just grow his hair... Yes!!! "Making Off!" I loooove that video! I thought I was the only one who kept rating it over and over! Hehe! ;D I think that's my favorite video that I have seen of Budapest. P.S. Gotta love the booty shots as they are going up the stairs.. Hehe! ALL Looking AMAZING in their jeans! Jade, I put that comment in there for you! Evidently, Southern Fried Records is London based... Hehe... Total Irony! That's about as far from Southern Fried things as it comes. It's owned by Fat Boy Slim. www2.southernfriedrecords.com/site/I think Sinnamon is the label that you mean that John "LOVES"... They were the ones who let Budapest go... TOTAL IDIOTS!!!! I wonder who that guy was and I wonder if he still has a job?? Perhaps he should find a new career path. (P.S. Sorry, John, if this is an uncomfortable topic for you! ... Just had to put my 2cents)! P.S. I love your little angry red faced emoticon, Lucy! He is too cute (though not as cute as the dancing one who looks like he is doing the Bangles' "Walk like an Egyptian" Dance)! You are the master of making your own emoticons!!! ;D

Uhm... I have a big confussion about the "bad" records company... As far as I remember, Sinnamon released both Budapest albums, at least in Spain, but the "bad" one released only the 1st album, so... *Lucy runs to see the booklet of TBTH*

*Lucy's back* Okay, both albums in hand.... Head Towards The Dawn - copyright by Sinnamon Records (2004)(2004? not 2005? ) Too Blind To Hear - copyright by Easy Street Music Ltd. (2002) Ahaaaa... That was my mistake, I thought I saw Sinnamon logo on TBTH as well, but it's only a piece of paper with adds. LOL! PS: Glad you like my emoticons, they're so funny, aren't they?? ;D But I don't own any of them (that sounded so YouTubish)

I am not a record exec., so maybe my opinion means didddley squat, but I personally think that the reason has to be that they were not managed or marketed very well. It obviously wasn't the music that was the problem. When I think about all of the crappy music that is out there, and then think about great bands, like Budapest, that don't reach great success, it really makes me mad. I mean, Britney Spears, any of the winners of American Idol... come on, does anyone actually listen to their "music," if you can call it that? Sorry for the rant there... Had to get that off my chest. Perhaps it's good that I am not a record exec... Hehe! I wonder if Budapest ever thought about doing what Dave Matthews Band did and going the grass roots route? Hindsight is 20/20, right? LOL at the "YouTubish" comment! As long as you are not under contract with Warner, I think you will be ok, Lucy! Hehe! Speaking of which, I really miss Blunty's videos! I wonder when that legal dispute will be over and he will be able to put his videos up again. Mraz is on the same label as Blunty and he has his YouTube videos back up and running... Maybe Billy is just slacking a little at his job! Just teasing, Billy, if you read this!

Damien Rice videos were out of YouTube for some time but they were back, so I (really) hope James ones will be back soon I understand you very well about the question: what the hell is going on with music industry??? I'm not professional, I don't know when an album is good, I only listen what I like, at least sometimes I think about how professional or commercial a song sounds (ahem Friday ahem ahem), but it's all so subjective I think... But anyway I don't see fair when some artists work a lot and make a big effort to live by their music, and they don't even get the chance, and then a cute guy with a pretty face and great body, who doesn't know note names is son of someone from the industry, or he's chosen for a TV show, just put him a bit of make up, new haircut, new clothes, and voila! New pop star with loads of money... It's NOT fair!!! That makes me really really upset...

Let's hope you are right and that the Blunty videos will be back soon!
I'm glad that I'm not the ony one wondering what's up with the music industry. I understand that music is subjective and that tastes are different and I am sure that there are some talented people who go on the contest shows. My problem, however, is with the companies and how they market the "artists." I understand that sex sells but if they have to have hot people, why can't they find hot people who actually can sing and why can't they get better songs for these people? I have a tendency to like musicians rather than performing acts, so perhaps I am a bit of a snob... But I think that with the acts who sing and dance but who can't write or play music, that the companies could do a better job at finding writiers for those acts instead of just cranking out manufactured mediocre pop music.
