It was a very tough choice indeed!
Every1 must have a song which they've attached themselves 2 or identified with at the very 1st moment when they've heard the album for the very 1st time. Mine was I leave on Friday as twice I've left Every1 & Everything behind and moved on with my life for the better, so which finger of mine shall I bite?
I feel that I've cheated on the other songs like : Cold Coffee, Go , So Close, 2nd for the1st time...ect.
Now I'll definitely have nightmares 2night ha-ha........

I love all the songs I said ' so close' but i love all of them! they are part of my life as I talk to my boyfriend and listen to them at the same time! hah John has just an amazing voice!!! It's so hard to decide because all his songs are amazingg!!!

It's so hard to decide because all his songs are amazingg!!! You're SO right, Karine, with "Departures" it's tough choices. There really should be an "All of them" option! "Go" is still the "Departures"-track that's dearest to my heart, I simply can't get enough of it. But "Cold Coffee", "So Close" and "Footprints" I love just as much, and the list goes on. This is music that's intelligent, deep, at times dark, yet always beautiful. All of the songs are so true to life and incredibly moving with John's emotions and sounds standing naked to the listener in this album that somehow refuses to leave you past the end. And I totally agree; John has got an AMAZING voice. **************************************************** Funny (?) thing I stumbled upon a few days ago: On John's Yahoo artist page "Departures" is listed with a release date 'Dec 1969'  I knew he started early as far as singing, playing the piano and songwriting goes... but THAT early, long before he was even born?!? ;D music.yahoo.com/john-garrison/albums/departures--218848863For the records: "Departures" was released on November 10th, 2009 and its release celebrated with a rather splendid show/party in Camden/London on the night before.  |

haha i just saw it now hah they got it wrong!! ha Oh Jade the songs are so beautiful and they touch my heart really! before i didnt know John, when he started playing for James that i saw him and thought ' what a cool guy' because he was always fine, smiling, and once when i went to James' concert in London i was saying hey to James and nothing! and i said hey to John and he was so kind and waved back! and i was like' aww' and i told my boyfriend and then i decided to look for stuff about him and then started listening to his songs and all that and now i just love all the songs and that's so amazing! i always listen to his songs while my boyfriend is doing some stuff on his bedroom and talking to me on skype, so it is like' my voice, boyfriend's voice and John's voice ha in the car the same thing, even my mum says' oh he is cool' i try to show the people that John is not just the man that plays for James, he is a great singer as well!  |
