OK, I thought I would start a sports thread since this has been one crazy week in sports! Also, I thought that maybe a sports thread might interest the boys in talking more? ? Speaking of which, I wonder where Gutbuster went? Scared off, I guess? LOL! SOOOOO, as Chris Rock said, "TIGER WOODS, Y'ALL!!!" What's the difference between a golf ball and a Cadillac? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards. Sorry! That's bad, I know! Seriously SAD story! Tiger, WHAT were you thinking? On to more interesting sporting events: No. 2 ranked Alabama upsets no. 1 ranked Florida and Heisman Trophy winner, Florida quarterback, Tim Tebow in SEC championship! WOOHOO! ;D I never would have thought it after Auburn nearly killed us last week!! I'm not that into gambling but now I wish I had had money on that one! Now, if only we can beat Texas in the National Championship Rose Bowl. ;D

I'm afraid I'm not interested in sports at all... but I am just thinking that I should do some sports... eating all the time and not doing any sports is no good.

ROFL, Kerpea! I didn't know you were a Texas fan! Uh-Oh! Those sound like fighting words... ROLL TIDE ROLL! ;D I guess I should also say, Go Canes, since I went to Miami too, but they didn't have as good of a season as Bama did! LOL! Changing subject: Thought I would post my favorite sports related video from YouTube. This makes me laugh every time! www.youtube.com/watch?v=fscEbMzmPmI"You are no longer in my 5" ROFL!!! Hey Grey, No worries! My Dad calls my sister "The Sporty One" and me "The Artsy Fartsy One." LOL! I used to play tennis, ride horses and dance ballet but I haven't done them in years. I have tried to learn golf but am total **** at golf! It is the hardest sport I ave ever tried! The swing is the most unnatural motion to me. I have no idea why.

@missy: I have never actually played golf... I do like minigolf though!

LOL! Gray! Evidently, I can't spell "have" or "Gray!"
I LOVE minigolf too!!! We call it Putt-Putt! I am actually a pretty good putter! I just can't drive the ball to save my life! My Dad is a great golfer and puttputter. My sister is really good too. I am much better at minigolf than actual golf. My childhood summers were spent in Florida where we would go to the beach during the day and play Putt-Putt every night after dinner. We had ongoing contests to see who was the Putt-Putt king or queen. It was always my Dad! LOL!

I just love playing, but I am not any good at it! Maybe I should try golf, too, someday.

Hey Missy, nice thread, great idea! I was thinking of you and Gray when I saw this: I wonder if Tiger Woods started that way, too... with the Golf that is, not the cheating...

ROFL, Kerpea! I didn't know you were a Texas fan! I am a Texas fan by marriage...LOL! Like I have said before my husband is a HARD CORE football fanatic!!! He is from Texas which is the one state in the union that breeds all boys from the day they were born to be football players. (As you can imagine, my husband cried like a baby when our son said he did not want to play football ) Thus movies like "Friday Night Lights" and "Varsity Blues"...both based on Texas High School Football! My husband was born and raised a Longhorn & Cowboy fan...so I have no choice but to root for his home team otherwise I may end up sleeping in the guest bed...LOL As for me being a true sports fan...I am a CUBS fan for sure! But other than that the only other sports I watch are Olympic Sports...I am a die hard Olympics fan...I watch all the events and even record the ones on during that day while I'm at work. I love Summer & Winter events just the same!!! I used to be a track & field competetor....I ran the 1600m, 800m, 4 x 800m relay & threw disk. As for Tiger Woods...what a PIG...if his wife has any sense about her she'd just cut his tally-wacker clean off!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

ROFL, JayDee! ;D Thanks for the cartoon! I haven’t laughed that hard in a long time! That cartoon is hilarious and a little sad too!
Hey Kerpea, you’re like my Dad. He went to Wake Forest but is an Auburn fan because my Mom went to Auburn. Wake Forest is not so great at football anyway. LOL! They do always have good basketball teams though. I have issues with basketball though. I know this is going to sound crazy but the sneakers on the court and the reverberating buzzers are more painful than fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Hahahah!
WOW, I’m very impressed that you did track & field. Me throwing the discus would probably be a hilarious sight. One of my best college friends called me frail arms. LOL! Sprints are ok but I hate long distance running. I’m fine with the elliptical trainer and the stair climber but I despise the treadmill. I’m more of one of those crazy, fast walkers that the runners hate. ROFL!
I love Olympics too! The Winter Olympics are my favorite. I’m not quite sure why, as I have never done any myself. Well, my aunt in North Carolina did take me ice stating once when I was 10. I have never even been snow skiing. I have been to Aspen once but it was in the summer and about 80 degrees. LOL! It was beautiful though! My favorite event is snow boarding. It really amazes me how agile they are.
Speaking of the summer Olympics, I am still NOT convinced that those Chinese gymnasts in the last Olympics were old enough. They looked like they were about 8 years old! I went to the track and field finals of the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. It was about 110 degrees! I don’t know how they did anything in that heat!
As for Tiger, he doesn’t do anything half way, does he? If hooking up with the most tramps were a sport, Tiger would have 12 green jackets and be the world’s number one at that too. He makes Bill Clinton look like a puppy and an amateur. He’s up there on Henry VIII level. Seriously, how did he have the energy and stamina for all of that and still have the time to be the number one golfer in the world? Did he work them in shifts? Were there charts, energy drinks and B-12 shots? “Talk to my lawyer,” is what I would say if I were Elin.

A topic about sports, ROFL!!! As Gray, I'm not interest in sports, football makes me sick. I used to play volleyball and basketball at the high school but nothing important, just because I'm tall and my dad used to play volleyball, taking part in championships and all that. My boyfriend taught me to play golf but I'm not born for that, I'm not that kind of delicate and I usually spent too much energy throwing that little ball, LOL!!! Best sport ever: to exercise finger muscles to play Departures one more time ;D

I think I should change that... Just a few pics to bring a lil snow to the board ;D I LOVE SNOW!!!! i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/Irish-NiKita/O-Thal%2009/P1020675.jpgi5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/Irish-NiKita/O-Thal%2009/P1020680.jpgi5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/Irish-NiKita/O-Thal%2009/P1020696.jpgbesides snowboarding I used to play volleyball for YEARS... I was actually quite good and enjoyed it big time... the only thing that annoyed me were all the tornaments... I didn't really enjoy them... I always wanted to play for fun because I enjoyed it and not because I felt the urge to win anything... football/soccer or whatever you wanna call it... well, I think I'm one of those girlfriends who have to watch football/soccer a lot more than they would if it wasn't for the boyfriend... I don't mind watching the World Cup or the European Cup but other than that - B.O.R.I.N.G.!!!!

I don't really follow any professional sports either. The best sports for me are the ones you can partake in! I do enjoy a good hockey game from time to time, but only in person, never on television. I do watch the Show Jumping during the summer Olympics, IF it gets any coverage. Skiing is awesome! I can't wait to teach my kids to ski! There is actually a tiny ski slope over here about 20 miles from my house.............just a bunny slope with artificial snow, but should be great for them to learn on! Last winter I got so frustrated at not getting to go, that I went out my back door and put on my skis and skied down the hill in my back yard! 5 seconds of fun is better than none!!! ;D

Same here, Kati and Missy, I also LOVE the Winter Olympics and am really looking forward to Vancouver 2010. Thank you, Kati, for the lovely pics. Where is it? I never tried snowboarding, but I love skiing and actually I went for skiing holidays EVERY year since I was 6, and I always enjoyed, and still enjoy it very much. Funny that you mentioned ice skating, 'cause I was pretty much into figure skating when I was a teenager, did that in Winter (and in Summer, too), but haven't done in a long time either. 5 seconds of fun is better than none!!! ;D Aww, that's so sweet, devlin. I can totally understand, now I picture you skiing down the hill in your back yard . I'm sure your kids will love skiing. Same as you, Kati, I'm also 'forced' to watch football (soccer) every now and then. I totally agree, sometimes it's boring, but sometimes it's nice. Specially the FIFA World Cup is always a lot of fun. As for the next one in Summer in South Africa, I had to giggle when the papers gloated over England's draw saying "Best English group since The Beatles". ;D Okay, I admit, the German group isn't that hard either. When I was a kid I loved to watch football games. Between 8 and 13 my Dad used to take me to the football stadium almost every Saturday (and to horse races every Sunday) which was great and still holds a lot of fond memories for me. As for Tiger, he doesn’t do anything half way, does he? If hooking up with the most tramps were a sport, Tiger would have 12 green jackets and be the world’s number one at that too. Were there charts, energy drinks and B-12 shots? “Talk to my lawyer,” is what I would say if I were Elin. Laughing out loud as I'm reading your words, Missy! ;D If the whole case wasn't so sad and completely off the mark, I'd say WOWeee ('e' is for effort ). How many shifts can you squeeze into a day?.... Just wondering... I hear his wife is going to stick with him, must be love then. Maybe it wasn't his fault and it's the ladies that's to blame (kidding)... Mister Woods might not be the sexiest man alive but I'd vote him the 'BOOM KING of the Year' www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUm3b2r9osg&feature=PlayList&p=D31ADE4BF722346B&index=2 Sorry, none of my business, I know...
