and now, ok, let's go, some more questions from the answers done ;D : Nope. You will have to buy it. MySpace will feature some of my new tunes soon Does it mean that who bought Cosmos can upload Happy Hour in MySpace profile? or we have to buy it one more time? ;D why? something to do with copyright? no he has an access all areas pass Who is Billy? and why does he have that pass? another question (this about copyright): do you mind if your fans upload videos with your music as background? Upload Happy Hour by all means. It's fine with me but MySpace might have something to say about it. Nothing to do with me though. I'm fine with it. Billy is James' best freind You can upload videos with my music no problem at all.

I am curious as to what your story is behind "Clock Face"? I've been listening to it quite a bit lately and I just wondered what was going on that lead to this masterpiece? Why thank you. It is one of my favourites too. It is basically about how society says you should be doing certain things by a certain age eg. 27 =good career and settling down, 30=children and weddings, 35 = live in a semi detached house with 2.4 kids, a cat and a ford Mondeo...etc etc....... and how this felt totally wrong with me. I still had this burning dream to make my own music that wasn't sold out to the music industry, and so I "turn the clock to face against the wall" so I have no idea what time, date, year it is and therefore how old I am. Hope that makes sense. It makes more sense as you get older. Trust me...!!!!

Twitter Update John has whiplash...officially.....3 hours at UCL hospital and that was the verdict. I got given valium though so not all bad...!!!! Wait...what? What the hell did you do? Or do you even want to say...a little drunk, maybe? d**n...that's gotta hurt! I had a nasty ski accident in Aples D'uez, France. It only started hurting once I got home. Still hurts a bit now to be honest. But I'm fine really. Just a typical moaning man...!!

Hi John ... what I would like to know: When writing your songs or recording those for an album, how conscious are you of making them musically or commercially viable? Or are you not concerned about it at all? Do you care about how the songs would sound or work on radio once they're finished/released? I've read a lot of reviews/articles about you, your music and your gigs and noticed that quite a few times you have been compared to other artists such as Thom Yorke or Nick Drake. Even I told you that, especially on "Nothing New", you sound a lot like Mark Hollis. Are you annoyed at this kind of statements (or something like "singer/songwriter for the Coldplay/Snow Patrol crowds") or is it okay with you? I like the empire of the sun record. I love the new Archive record. My mates Post war Years have just made a great album (listening to it now). MGMT was good. Still adore "In Rainbows" I've never heard of MGMT ("Kids"??) before. Do you know these guys personally? Are they still existing as a band? Do you have a particular liking for white shoes?? THANK YOU! J. xx I don't think about commerciality one bit. Although I have a very poppy side to me so they are never really too leftfeild or weird. But that is never an issue when recording. Doesn't bother me. Quite flattering sometimes. But other times I just can't see the comparison. The whole Snow Patrol, Coldplay thing is a little annoying as I was doing that sound way before they were, but didn't have the same level of success so every assumes I copied them. But I didn't I swear !!!! I know the guy who plays bass for MGMT but that was only after I was already into them. They are doing really well now. Check them out. I like one pair of white shoes. I'm not normally a white shoe guy but if they are beaten up and in need of love then I could like them...

Do you do private gigs? If so...how much do you charge for a private gig? Do you have a rider? If so, what is on your rider other than a bottle of Jack and Coke? And...how would one go about scheduling a private gig? Who to contact...and so on? er...have never really thought about it really. I would have to have a think.

Hi John Any chance you could unlock this forum again? Would make it a lot easier for me to occasionally have a look when I'm in the office plus it would make my addiction look a little less serious if I did't see my name continually on the list. Of course, it would be nice if more people registered here and with an unlocked forum there's no need to, but then again, in before it was locked there were 60-80 guests at times, so it seems that some people just want to read without having to create an account. Hope you didn't lock it because you're too embarrassed about what's written here!? Speak soon Thanks, J. xx OK. Done

...Hope you didn't lock it because you're too embarrassed about what's written here!? ;D ;D who knows... Hey John, what's the most personal song on the new record? Do you have any favourite(s) yet? Thank you! xx There are quite a few personal ones to be honest. I would get the tissues and the dancing shoes ready if I were you. My current favourite is "Go". I get a lump in my throat every time.

Hey John, I was wondering if it was difficult for you to re-adjust to 'normal' life after being on tour for so long and constantly being around people. Do you miss all the socializing or do you appreciate some quiet time for a while? I never really stopped after the tour. I went straight to New York and have been busy ever since. I was in need of a rest. We all were. No I don't miss the socializing at all. It all becomes quite samey after a while. Rather than hang out with super models at the Armani Club in Milan, I now hang out at the local with my girlie and my friends. I'm much more that kinda guy. I'm sure that will change over time though.. I do miss all the drinks being free..... ;D I miss the guys a lot though and have seen most of them a few times since.

So...according to your Twitter feed today you say you are a business and are selling shares. What is your current stock price? And, are you going to be traded on a public market or just stay a private entity? If you are traded on a public market which one would you prefer...NYSE (more for really big corporations) NASDAQ (more tech related...and I don't see you as a techie)...or you could just be traded on the London Stock Exchange...you wouldn't even have to leave home...I guess it doesn't matter I could still buy you either way...LOL...JK! ;D Fascinating thought, though! I'd buy some of you to add to my growing portfolio...I'd value your shares as a good investment with an exponential growth factor. (BTW...I went to school to be a stock broker thus my Bachelors degree in Finance...I tend to ramble on when it comes to this kind of stuff...Please forgive me! ) ............ OK...I am not a business man so all that flew over my head. I was advised to become a business by my accountant. I now own and run "Garrison Music Ltd" but have no idea what I am doing...!!! ha ha ha

LOL@Kerpea! Then am I wrong? I understood the Twitter feed not very well, I thought John was talking about music as business, something that anyone wants to share, it's all about the money... One of those problems of languages and meanings... Oups, I almost forget the question: now you live in London, do you like it? which is your favourite part of the city? London is OK. I miss NYC though. But I like London more and more everyday. Incredibly expensive though I warn any prospective tourists. I like where I live in Islington. I really like Shoreditch and am looking at buying a house there.

LOL @ Kerpea, I think he would be in the London Stock exchange... I'm in for a few shares too... Although we should probably make sure that he can still perform after the thumb-grill incident and also make sure that "Lightning Man" is insured for freak accidents too... But seriously, ditto to Snowflake's question. I hope that thumb is better... I do think John might be the male me in terms of having weird accidents... Last week, I had to get stitches and a tetanus shot after a run-in with a kitchen knife... I just removed the stitches myself because I got tired of them, and it bled more from the stitch removal than the actual accident... Go figure. Changing the subject... The ClocK Face video is one of my favorite videos. I Love the muted color tones. Did the same director do both the "Clock Face" and "Is this the best it gets" videos? The have a similar look. Where was Clock Face filmed? It looks like Spain but not sure. No different director. It was filmed in Barcelona. In the Gothic quarter mostly. And by the sea obviously. And on the roof of the venue we were playing the next day, Razzmattazz.

missalabama: It was Spain, the city of Barcelona (when it still loved John, haha!) When and how do you realize you want to become a songwriter? was there any artist on your family? which was the first song you wrote? how old were you then? I was singing before I could speak. I was writing before I could read All my family are musicians. But all in the classical field "The Caterpillar Song". I wrote when I was 2 years old on the piano.
