WOW.... Can't believe, so many new threads!!! Great idea, hope this will lead to a little more conversation on here, it's been a bit quiet lately. Sooo sorry I can't contribute anything right now. I'm away on travels the whole week through. I hardly get a cyber connection, and if I do, it's slow, weak and expensive. Hope I'll be able to catch up once I'm back home, which will be on Sunday. Anyway, THANK YOU, John, so much for starting all these gig-threads and also the new blog on what you are up to. Can't wait to hear your new songs!!!! Calling to all garriboardies who will be at Underbelly next Tuesday - any hour to meet? ;D It's a shame most of garriboardies can't go It will be more difficult to give my presents! Hi Lucy, I think I'll be at the Underbelly at about 7pm. I'm flying in that day, so probably will have to go there straight from the airport. Really looking forward to meeting you and your boyfriend. It's gonna be a splendid evening methinks with lots of amazing artists and great music. See you soon!!!! ;D Cheers! Jade xxxx

Sorry I haven't been contributing anything lately. Thanks to the Icelandic Ash Scenario kids and I had missed a week of work, school, college, family life and so on....... I'll greatly miss John's very intimate aura, his talent 4 music, the Departures babies, and of course the FANTASTIC GARRIBOARDIES!!!!!!! Hope Johnny boy will think of me and put some more gigs on British turf for later this year. Hope You'll have lots of fun Tue night and could possibly make some footage for me please. Lol: Napsi xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi there Back from London last night, ash cloud left behind (I thought the lady at the boarding desk in Stansted said something like 'Have a nice death' after handing me back my ID ) but still on cloud nine and super happy after another awesome Garrison-Gig-Experience. Was great to meet the lovely Lucy again and her equally lovely boyfriend (who is a very nice guy and a real gentleman), their friend Estefania also from Spain, Elodie (woopwoop ;D ) and Bridget from France. Missy, Napsi, Kitine, Lydia, Jenny (and everyone I probably forgot to mention), you were all dearly missed. Hopefully some shared Johnny G. adventures soon!!! As for the show, it was a nice crowd this time at the Underbelly, not quite as big as during Geva Alon's set (which I absolutely loved, btw) but very attentive and appreciative. You could tell that John was really into it, he sounded as stunning as ever and everyone in the room loved it I'm sure. I certainly did but I guess you know that already... . To see (and hear) Tom Visser on keys (?), percussion, beans etc. was a nice surprise and a real treat too. If I remember correctly, this was the set: Let's Run I Leave On Friday So Close *sigh* Rendezvous 2nd for the 1st Time Is This the Best It Gets *double sigh* ... and if I remember correctly, this was John : I've got 2 songs recorded but don't have the time to upload them right now. Sorry! Oh, before I forget, BIG THANKS Lucy for the badge, I love it !!! Hope you don't mind me posting a picture here:

I was writing the review when suddenly the website refreshed itself because you both were writing at the same time, ha ha ha ha!!!! As Jade says, was a great night, a dream that I don't want to wake up, I only can watch the pics and videos once again and again, almost crying thinking that now all those moments are in the past, and who knows when will be the next time? Okay, it's true that the duration of the set didn't surprise me, and it's SO true I'm going to hate Water Rats forever, but all the good things erases all bad memories. Our adventure started on Monday, 3.30AM at the Stansted airport, nothing outside the ordinary routine, nothing but I was flying with two people who hate flying, instead of one as always! The take off was pretty good but arriving London... OMG! We were jumping over the landing strip for some minutes that were like ages! But the crew was so friendly in the flight, we were laughing all the journey. Then, in London, typical stuff: Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus (under maintenance - couldn't take so any pics as I wished ), shopping at HMV, looking for some wasabi with no luck , Hyde Park, Notting Hill and after being around Sarm studios looking for any TT member (no luck either), back to the hotel so soon by bus (just because I was tired that every line we needed, it was closed!). Tuesday, same thing: walking, visiting Madame Tussauds. I felt a bit disappointed with Robbie Williams and Beatles figures, but the rest was amazing, well done job, so real that it scared us! Then running to the London Eye to discover that high elevations make me feel dizzy (since when? I dunno, I love -used to love- to be in high floors to see everything!). Not feeling so well, back to the hotel to recover until the hour to go to Underbelly, throwing all my coffee on the floor of the hotel! So embarrassing! Day hadn't started so well for me.... I fell asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow, and the same thing for Javi and Fani (boyfriend and friend). So I woke up suddenly just to notice we had only half an hour to go to Underbelly! Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamn it! We thought to grab a taxi while leaving the hotel, and a taxi just right in front of us! Luck looked like brightening on our side - but too soon to think that, and as we turned the corner, just in time to discover people queuing in front of Water Rats. WTF? !!! I was like while Fani trying to calm me down. Finally we arrived The Underbelly in time to see Jade's hair going downstairs and waiting in the queue while trying to guess who's on stage - Geva Alon. We were late but not too much as we could listen 5 songs. Nice ones, slowly for my boyfriend's taste who preferred the next band (whose name I would be very grateful to know as I lost the napkin where I wrote it). Time to say hello and a few words to Jade, and then to Elodie, giving the badges to them and happy to see Jade was wearing the old one ;D Then text messages started to arrive from Spain via mobile - new ash cloud over UK, flights started to be canceled. Not a good day at all But to forget everything, John went up to the stage with Tom (so happy to see him again), what reminded me to fix up my camera - there was no way, ALL pics were blurry, so I made a 20 min video (following Lydia's advice posted here: leaving the camera over the faced-down glass ). During the concert, John was as funny as always, having some trouble with the pedals and joking with Tom about his can of beans. Nice set list, I didn't want it to end (and I cannot avoid shouting "Noooo!" when John announced he was going to sing the last song). I was feeling so moved on Is This The Best It Gets, never heard it before on a concert, and it put a tear on my eye. John and Tom went down the stage and, as previous bands did, the next singer was so quick to get her guitar ready.... I thought how stressful it should be for artists the concerts like these ones where you only have 30 minutes to get ready your instruments and give the best of you.... We went upstairs and made John doing the same job as always (poor him): signing some albums and taking pictures. Nice chat despite the cold of the street (and so funny to see 2 or 3 Spanish girls in the main door teaching some English guys to say "F*ck you" in Spanish LOL!!!!). Then a walk to the tube (thanks Elodie!!) and to King's Cross with Jade talking about the festival in Copenhagen next August. So hard to say goodbye when you don't want to end the night! Next day I woke up feeling that last night was a product of my imagination, and it was Tuesday again! But the purple bracelet was in my wrist, what meant it was Wednesday . We really missed all of you, girls. Wish you had been there, truly!!!!!! (PS@Missy: are you going to New York date?)

Can't wait for the videos! Missy, Napsi, Kitine, Lydia, Jenny (and everyone I probably forgot to mention), you were all dearly missed. Hopefully some shared Johnny G. adventures soon!!! We really missed all of you, girls. Wish you had been there, truly!!!!!! Thanks, Jadie and Lucy! I was so sad not to get to go and not to get to finally share a gig with my fellow Garriboardies! One of these days.... (PS@Missy: are you going to New York date?) Yes! Woop Woop! Counting down the days! I'm also going to try for Chicago. I've never been there and have always wanted to see it! So the Garrigig would be the perfect excuse!
