Copenhagen June 13, 2009 This was the set: I Leave On Friday Cold Coffee Footprints Walking on Broadway When the Lights Go Out So Close Is This the Best It Gets Once Around the Block Censored Memories 2nd for the 1st Time Happy Hour Since the Copenhagen show has never had its own thread, I thought I'd put the review I posted back in June 2009 here: So, I'm back in Berlin and kinda wish I wasn't. Copenhagen was great, as it is a wonderful city. Better yet, John's gig on Saturday. I loved it from start to end, more than words can possibly tell. Only downside concerning a John Garrison gig, you're likely to NEVER EVER want to see anyone else in concert again... that's what it did to me!! Consider this...
As for the show itself, it was a nice venue, a great choice of songs. John was amazing, brilliant, incredible and the unexpected appearance of the Rhythm section consisting of Tom Visser (who clearly is unbelievably talented and passionate!) and Mark 'Seabo' Seabridge (give me bass..bass ) was a real treat too. The new songs sounded bloody ace (and strangely familiar given the fact that I know them for only one week or so, but is it any wonder since I've been listening to them already about a thousand times). Loved also the older songs such as Censored Memories and When The Lights Go out. Actually I loved the whole set. Personal highlights would have to be Footprints and, of course, Happy Hour!!!!

Feeling a little bit nostalgic right now, as today it's exactly one year since the show in Copenhagen. This one still holds a special place in my heart because it was the very first time I saw John as a solo artist performing his own songs. And what a truly fantastic set it was, really loved it, not least because I got to hear "Happy Hour" as well as many of the songs from Departures, which, by then, wasn't even released. GREAT memories (not censored at all... ): "Happy Hour": www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqWZykYyQ-MCould the doors be any more open? I don't think so. - Bloody awesome! Was also really nice to share the experience with Jenny and Loraline. Just found this pic - the three of us chatting to lovely Pernille:
