Calling all you lovely guests!!!!
Hi everyone,
I know, I know, there is a lot of John Garrison related 'social networking' all over the worldwideweb. There is his Facebook page (with a constantly increasing number of fans, yay , probably the 'medium of choice' these days), there's Twitter, there's John's ever so lovely Blog, the www.garrisonmusic.com website in general, a YouTube Channel, his MySpace (with about 9.000! friends) and there's maybe more I haven't found out about yet (phew ). And if you're lucky you even got to meet the man himself and had the opportunity to say Hi and to tell him personally what you like about him and his music, his basswork for Blunty or whatever.
And then, there's also this messageboard which (in before the conversation ran a little dry) used to be a very happy place for those who love John's work (like me... obviously) to gather and to exchange thoughts about his music and music in general, talk about live gig experiences, share pictures and video, have a nice little chat about all and nothing and even a good laugh every once in a while.
It's been somewhat quiet in here lately, which is a shame actually, and although I feel like a crazy cyberstalker somehow for having posted so many times - here and elsewhere - I admit that I miss the conversation we once had on this messageboard. I "just can't believe that it's over" and that there is only so much you can say about John's amazing work. I hope you would agree that the song isn't sung yet, even less, now that a new record is on its way.
To cut a long story short (not my strongest suit): If YOU stumble upon this board as a guest and happen to read this , please come and say Hi and maybe even register as a member. You won't get spam mails or something I promise, at least I never did. Ask John a question or two (he might even answer personally when he finds the time), send him a message (unlike Twitter, NOT limited to 140 characters ) and maybe tell us who you are, where you're from and how you got into John's music, okay?
As for the 'battle-tested' regular Garrison board crew, it's great to see you back today, Kerpea, Gray and Napsi. Still terribly missing Lucy, Missy, Kitine, Loraline, Nate, Theafroshane, Devlin and everyone else of the lovely 'Garriboardies' I possibly forgot to mention. A sign of life, anyone?
Speak soon, I hope!
