Hey Ladies & Gents...I attended a private event last night here in OKC and The Flaming Lips performed with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. Here is a video of it... ;D Before the show started Wayne Coyne came to our table and chatted it up with us...he was sooooo nice and soooo funny! I have pics on facebook ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=dI3h2t2G80o

Thank you, Kerpea, for sharing your video . Looks like a fun night out was had in OKC. ;D Hope all you American boardies have had a happy 4th July, despite the rain. No fireworks? How sad! But hey, as long as that independence is working, it's all good... ********************************************** I went to see Prince in Berlin on Monday. His only show in Germany, surprisingly, not even sold out. Not quite so surprisingly, everyone in the audience appeared to be older than 30, LOL. It was a good day for weather and a good day for music. A two-hour 80' dancefloor happening and more, much nicer than expected. No doubt, the artist formally known as whatever name, still knows how it's done, really cool. ;D "Purple Rain" (Encore) www.youtube.com/watch?v=nXHLe6jD1ps&feature=related(I wonder how long the vid will last on youtube...)

Glad to see you're all enjoying going to gigs. I might go to see a gig tomorrow... Since living in Berlin, I have only been to one gig here I think, but to eight abroad

Is that band where Jared Leto plays? Never seen them, only listened some songs (nice ones) but a friend of mine is very very fan of them, and she's going to their gig in Madrid next December....

Just saw Gogol Bordello on Tuesday! What a fun band! Anyone else here like them? When we were leaving, we had to walk past the side alley of the venue and three of the band members were hanging out, so we talked to them for a while, had a sincere conversation with the violin player about the fires in Russia, then my husband forced me to have my picture taken with them, in which I look dreadful, so will not be posting!! But what a wonderful experience it was to meet such talented and interesting people from so far away! Great day ;D !

I haven't been to a Gogol Bordello show yet, but I saw 2 of the band-members at Live Earth in London in July 2007 when they were supporting Madonna on stage. I totally agree, they display such a lot of fun while playing and even though I've never been particularly keen on Madonna and always thought her song "La Isla Bonita" was a little bit annoying, I enjoyed her performance very much. Best part of the entire night actually (apart from seeing Blunty of course), very intoxicating performance...not least because of the guys from Gogol Bordello. Is that the violin player you've had a conversation with? www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8LZHtLk-a4&feature=related

You can only see Sergey and Eugene in the video you posted with Madonna, but there are actually 9 members of Gogol Bordello, including two female percussionists. They are in Europe right now, but they are supposed to come back and play in Lawrence, Kansas in October, which is only about an hour away from me, so I might be able to catch another show.
