Good luck with that, Jade As far as I know, tickets for the spanish shows were sold out the first day! Thank you, Lucy! I know it's a bit risky, but when I saw Robbie Williams at the same venue in July 2006 I didn't have a ticket either. And although the show was sold out long before, there were many tickets available on the day it actually took place and I got a ticket, at half the face value. Was quite an enjoyable night, by the way! ;D

LOL ;D Ohhh Lucy, I'm laughing out loud as I'm reading this, you're too sweet. I don't know if you're serious, but it's well worth a karma exalt!! By the way, Robbie was great, he's quite the entertainer and managed to get the whole stadium going. And although I've never been really into him and his music, even I was dancing and screaming like nobody's business. He put on a brilliant show, but best bit was when he sang "Back For Good", sitting on a barchair in the pouring rain, smoking a cigarette and at the end having 80 000 singing the words back - that really was a "shivers-down-the-back" moment I'll always treasure.

Hey Jenny, did you make it to the "Razorlight"-show eventually?? You were missed and so was Flakie. You would have loved it, I'm sure. It was a great and very energetic performance, a shot of adrenaline from start to finish. As for Johnny Borrell, I always wanted to find out myself whether or not the clichè "Looks good, sounds good and behaves badly" is true. So, now that I saw him I'd say: He looked good (but not as good as his guitars) and he looked oh very young, he sounded good (and so did his bandmates, in particular the bass player) and he did not behave badly at all but smiled most of the time and seemed to have a lot of fun. When performing without the guitar he jumped around like being peppered with a machine gun and reminded me pretty much of a young Mick Jagger. They played for about 90 minutes, new and older stuff, mostly upbeat tunes. The sound was superb as it's a really nice venue, a kind of huge banqueting hall with 2 bars and a wooden floor (that wobbles when people in the audience start to jump, so that it feels as if the Titanic is about to sink and then you can not only hear the music but feel it). I took a few pictures: and videos: s537.photobucket.com/albums/ff339/itsmejade66/Razorlight_Berlin_April09/?action=view¤t=Razorlight_April_09034.flv

Thanks so much for the review + pictures (brings back memories of when I saw them...)!! No, I didn't attend the gig, I'd have told you before if I had had the opportunity to go. Maybe I'll try to be there in Dresden... And thanks for the video, will watch that later! As for 'not behaving badly' - I guess it's just an attitude... maybe he's the kindest guy ever but just tries everything to hide that, or maybe it's just what the media want him to be.

Okay…so I’ll admit it. I’m an “American Idol” nut! And I spent two hours of my life watching the finale last night…and I was not as shocked at the results as a lot of people are. Did any of you watch it? I have to admit that Adam was a great performer but he is very theatrical and Kris was more of an all around music artist. Does Adam even play an instrument? I was starting to think that his only talent was to scream on key…as if that is what we want…a whole album of high notes and screaming…not my cup of tea. Anyway…just had to get this off my chest…and I will be waiting patiently to see what kind of album Kris decides to go with. There is a pretty good chance I’ll be buying it.

Hey, kerpea, there's nothing wrong with watching this, what's two hours anyway. We've got a similar show here in Germany I think, it's called "Deutschland sucht den Superstar" and guess what, just 2 weeks ago, Germany found its SUPERSTAR (not really I'm afraid..). Your convo above made me think of John's take on this kind of "talent" shows. You probably all know this part taken from one of his blogs (July 2007), but since it's so riotously amusing and well worth reading it more than once, I thought I'd post it here:

"Make This Go On Forever" - Snow Patrol I went to see them yesterday and they were quite good. Awesome sound and nice visuals on stage. Really amazed at the fact that most any song was performed/arranged differently compared to their studio-versions but just as good. Oh, and I didn't know that Gary Lightbody was such a comedian, very entertaining and as a result a very responsive crowd. OOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHH, LUCKY GIRL!!! You don't know how much I envy you (in the good sense ), do you? ;D ;D What songs they played?Good choice of song! It's like the other person of How To Be Dead, did you ever notice? I don't recall every song, to be honest, but as far as I remember they did play "Chocolate", "Spitting Games", "How to be Dead" and "Run" off the "Final Straw" album. "Run" was really great, starting with Lightbody on his own, first with electric guitar, then a cappella. For the second part of the song it was all the band, sounding bloody marvelous, even better than on CD. Then there were are few songs from their latest record, "A Hundred Million Suns" (of which the bulk has been recorded in Hansa Studios in Berlin, yay!), namely "Crack the Shutters", "Take Back The City" (obviously, since that's the motto of the tour) and "If There's A Rocket Tie Me To It". Maybe there were more, but I don't remember. The majority of songs were definitely those from the "Eyes Open" album, such as "Hands Open", "Chasing Cars", "Open Your Eyes", "You Could Be Happy", a very extended version of "Shut Your Eyes" with quite nice and effective crowd participation ;D, and finally "Make This Go On Forever", which is my favourite song of theirs. Glad they did it at the show! I'm having the line "The final word in the final sentence you ever uttered to me was love" stuck in my head ever since I left the venue on Saturday. I'm sorry, Lucy, if that was more information than you needed to know. and probably we'll go as well to London for 4 days from 2nd to 5th of July ;D still working on it, I have to prepare a great lie for my bosses, shh Lucy, you really should consider this, first and foremost because of John's gig, but once you're there maybe you can even make it to the iTunes Festival at Camden Roundhouse on July 5th, as Snow Patrol will be headlining the event. ;D ;D www.allgigs.co.uk/view/event/216523/ITunes_Live_London_Festival_2009_Snow_Patrol_Roundhouse_London_5_July_2009.html

Changing the subject... Sorry! OK, so I'm sad that Two Spot Gobi cancelled a gig that they were going to have in Brighton on June 27... I was hoping to see them too when I head to London for John's Water Rats gig... Sad!!! Those blokes are groovy, man!

I'm sorry, Lucy, if that was more information than you needed to know. Not at all! Thanks A LOT for all that information!! So nice they played Shut Your Eyes, my favourite after Set The Fire To The Third Bar, sure it has been amazing! I'm surprised, they have a new album and they played more songs from Eyes Open!! (I prefer it ) Last album is great, just... I don't know, there's a big difference between Final Straw-Eyes Open and A Hundred Million Suns, but the most strange album they have is When It's All Over We Still Have To Clear Up, I think it was Songs For Polar Bears, but when I got that album with never ending title, my face was something like . Surprisingly it's the one I listened more last days... Anyway, thank you thank you for letting me know how it was and what songs they play! I knew it, but thank you I saw it before John wrote the London date so I was thinking if I'd go to a Snow Patrol concert, should be that one And now I'm thinking it would be the perfect week of my dreams: John on Thursday, Take That on Friday and Saturday, and Snow Patrol on Sunday, all in London, so perfect! ;D And then I fall out of bed LOL Maybe if I were millionaire and I wouldn't have reasons to keep a job, of course I would do it, but unfortunately, my pocket says "don't ever think about that" What about you Jade? Have you thought of going to see Snow Patrol once again?

Aww, Lucy, now I see why it would be the perfect week of your dreams. I'd send you a wish-granting genie if I knew of one!! BTW, I, too, prefer the "Eyes Open" album. What about you Jade? Have you thought of going to see Snow Patrol once again? No. I can't stay that long in London, have to be back in Berlin on Saturday. But it's ok, now that I saw them a few days ago. There are very few artists/bands I'm crazy enough to see them again and again and again, Snow Patrol not being one of those.

U2...Kings...and JOHN! [/i][/quote] Now THAT would be awesome! My vote has to go for KC though, as my children are still young enough that I don't feel comfortable leaving them overnight with a sitter, so I can go on an out of town trip! That's my problem with U2 as well ! Although I don't blame anyone for not wanting to come to KC to play...........not a destination city! It's a little depressing sometimes reading about everyone else excitedly making concert plans and I'm chained to my responsibilities.........But my day will come, about one more year I think............
