Easy Water
Spent my life looking for someone, just realised I am someone, And I was someone from day one, the days spent searching have all gone. Dug up the lawn without checking upstairs, A bit uncomfortable, I burned the chairs, A little drastic it may seem, but I was young and I was green.
Now I realise what I got inside, what I had all along, What was waiting inside of me for an apology and an invite outside, So I said sorry, my name’s Johnny, won’t you come and meet me, And hey, you never know how it all will end, we could even be friends.
It would be a minor miracle, there’s so much history after all, To build the bridges that we burned, unlearn the lessons that we learned. To think that there might finally be a day when both of us can speak, I guess I’m older than before, I guess it’s time to end the war.
Now I realise what I got inside, what I had all along, What was waiting inside of me for an apology and an invite outside, So I said sorry, my names’ Johnny, won’t you come and meet me, And hey, you never know how it all will end, we could all be friends.
Now I’m on easy water. Now I’m on easy water. Hello long time no speak, no see, no love, Lost time, mistrust.

As for "Easy Water" it wasn't exactly love at first sight/listen, but it's really grown on me. When I first heard it I thought that the very beginning sounded like The Cure's "Lullaby", and the vocals reminded me a bit of Damon Albarn who's been using a similar technique on "Herculean", my favourite track on the 2007 "The Good, the Bad & the Queen" album. By now I really, really love "Easy Water" and am playing it over and over again.
I SO like the sound, it is pretty 'indie' and the lyrics are just brilliant... a fascinating way to put that kind of struggle down in words. Beautiful soul meets twisted mind. To be 'friends with oneself' is perhaps one of the most important things in life as being one's own worst enemy isn't funny at all... (but hey, it's never too late to fight the 'unbeatable foe' isn't it?).
Not sure if that's what the song is about... but that's how eYe see it...

You put my thoughts into words, Jade. I didn't quite like it when I listened to it for the first time, but since a few weeks it has been on repeat. Love it so much, especially the ending...
