No title for the album yet. The list of songs that will eventually make up John's second solo album has not been finalized as many songs are still being produced. Unlike 'cosmos' this album's concept isn't completely defined. John had a long list of songs, new and old that were chosen and everything is being produced and nurtured and as mixing is completed a vibe is emerging and when the final track list starts present itself. It will lend itself to a title for the album. Yeah, thanks from me too for keeping us updated. Interesting to know, doesn't make the wait easier, though!! Just noticed that there have been 2 dates in March added to the JB-world tour, ... so still no end of the tour in sight... means no chance for John to continue working on Album 2...

That's a shame for the second album, but I'm glad for all the people who will come to those gigs, JB gigs are awesome. Where will they play in those dates?

march 8 and 9 are dates for Sicily, Italy.. so not too far from Spain. Hopefully they will plan a few concerts in Spain as well, so John will be on location there for a solo concert as well Would make it very, very tempting to book a flight to the sun for some good music ;D

You're absolutely right concerning the JB gigs, Lucy. I know I'm being pretty selfish here, guess that's what happens when excitement takes over one's brain. Of course, I'll be waaaaiiiiiiting as long as it may take him to finish the album, no pressure whatsoever... *sigh* @ theafroshane - Great to see you being around so frequently on this rather female driven board...

I cross my fingers, hope they come, I loved JB concerts, I had a lot of fun and I want to go to a concert, I need to be on the road once again! No matter the day or the city, if James comes, I will be there ;D loraline: sunny but VERY windy, so look out with the flights. I'll be very glad if you come anyway ;D

don't hold me to it, but that's how the schedule is looking. a lot has to fall into place with studio availability and travel and the jb tour wrapping up when scheduled etc. but if all goes well, no reason it won't be done.

So you're trying to say that we can't slap you with a lawsuit in case the whole thing gets delayed??? Of course, no-one would hold you to anything as far as scheduling goes. I can only imagine how many things need to be organized and how much time, effort and money does go into producing an album. It's just great that you're keeping us updated, any piece of information is greatly appreciated.
Is it easier or more fun to work on an album to which the concept isn't completely defined or is it just different? Is there usually a lot of discussion involved with the artist on how to make a track sound like or does everything kind of fall into place if artist and mixer/producer are basically on the same wavelength? Is it a good thing to have the artist around or does it make things more complicated? Is mixing/engineering, like recording, still very much about inspiration/creativity or is it rather about specialist knowledge and technical possibilities on how to make the most of the recorded material? And is it important to be focusing on how the tracks would sound on radio once they're finished or is that never an issue? I'm sorry, I know that's a bit of a task to answer all those rather unprofessional questions, so absolutely no problem if you refuse to do so. Otherwise, thanks in advance! J. xx
