I downloaded an iPhone App yesterday called Pandora Internet Radio and to my surprise they play John's music!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Hey, that's great news!!  Funny thing is, I tried to contact Pandora Internet Radio last week in order to request John Garrison/"Testimony" and sadly got a message saying: "Dear Pandora Visitor, We are deeply, deeply sorry to say that due to licensing constraints, we can no longer allow access to Pandora for listeners located outside of the U.S. We will continue to work diligently to realize the vision of a truly global Pandora, but for the time being we are required to restrict its use. We are very sad to have to do this, but there is no other alternative. We believe that you are in Germany (your IP address appears to be 88.73.144.68). If you believe we have made a mistake, we apologize and ask that you please contact us at pandora-support@pandora.com...." and so on. BUMMER!!  *************************************************************************** I just ordered another two copies of Above The Cosmos at CD Baby and noticed for the first time that on the search page there's written about ATC: "Recommended if you like Radiohead, Prince, The Police". That's interesting, but... hmmm... also a bit misleading. Radiohead, of course!!.. but Prince and The Police do not really come to mind if I'm honest. Actually, I find it to be almost impossible to draw a comparison, and that's why I think this statement, which can be found on his personal CD Baby page, has it very spot on: "Crossing the format barriers of indie rock and adult alternative, "Above The Cosmos" is testimony to Garrison finding a fresh new sound he can call his very own" - it's exactly that...and definitely something he can be really proud of!!! |

As some of you already know I am on facebook now...kinda reluctantly, but there nonetheless. So I was checking out John's group page and was SHOCKED! The last post was in November of last year...where is everyone? Is there no love? I just don't get it...just annoyed and sad!  AHHHHH! Edit: I am on a rant now...it's like I went to the page and felt like the cob webs were taking over...I could hear the crickets chirping...it's just not right. |

I'm sorry, I don't have a facebook account, so no chance for me to leave a comment... oh, and I so would love to tell him how great a musician and nice guy he is...  But then again, we shouldn't worry too much, I don't think his personal well-being depends on a facebook-comment. |

I thought John could use a little 'exposure' on the Blunty boards (his thread in the Misc. section went down to page 6 - shame on us). As yet no one has replied to my post but at least 30 people have read it! Now that the release of the new album is in sight, maybe we all can try to keep his thread a bit more at the top without pushing it too hard!?! Just a thought...

Must start posting about him on other message boards again. The problem is that, besides this one and James's, there is only one other message board I read regularly...
Well I somehow got used to mentioning his name whenever I meet someone new... if anyone talks to me for more than 5 minutes, John's name will be mentioned!

This is the messageboard I read regularly, the only one at the moment. About Jade's idea of John topic, it sounds a good one, but I left that forum so much time ago for personal reasons, and I don't see very correct for Bluntie boardies I come back only for John, it's something like the spam from my point of view. But I wrote about John on my blog (a very long post with videos and all that), and always he's mentioned on it. If I find the time, I'll do the same with MySpace. Another idea I'm thinking: to visit general webs where Cosmos were mentioned and write saying next album is almost ready. ¿?  |

I have left the other board too. Too much drama for me...this board is the only one I come to anymore...it should be a place to enjoy the artist and possibly make some friends along the way...over there it is too territorial and the relationships between the boardies and Billy is a bit much...I'm sure Billy is a sweetie but those boardies are vicious!

I too am not that much into posting on the Blunty boards anymore, but I still read some of the threads, mainly in the 'live' section.
As for John's thread in the Misc. section, I don't have a problem to post something regarding the release of his next album there, it's a regular thread like the ones related to many other artists, I do not at all see it as spam. Maybe it doesn't make that much of a difference, but after all, more than 100 people have read my post within 2 days, and if it helps to spread the word of the new record then why not keep it up. I definitely will!!
It's a crowded market and the music industry is a money driven wh0re - Mister Garrison is an outstanding artist who makes incredible music but can't rely on the backing/promotion of a major record label and, as a result, doesn't get through to as many people as he would otherwise and as he truly deserved. That's not fair and it annoys me a lot, but personally, I really don't know what to do about it (that annoys me even more..). Bummer!
I'm sorry for my ranting... and for my English... but had to get that out of my system...
