ROFL! Now I have that R. Kelly song in my head- "After the show it's the after party. After the party it's the hotel Lobby!"... At least I think it's R. Kelly. I don't know my hip-hop very well. ROFL, Missy. Isn't R. Kelly the one that would never complain having thousands of screaming teenagers to whom he is old enough be their fathers. ;D ************************************************** Hey, another thing to put on the 'Things to do in NYC'-list: Go and see the legendary COSMOS corner (23rd St/2nd Av, no secret since the details were given in one of John's blogs ) Have to admit that this has been one of the first things I did last time I was there. On the right, that's me - shortly before the crazy stalker in me came out *Note to Department of Housing Preservation: You'd better fix your signs, folks, if you want to make sure people know where the key to heating system area lock is located.* Guess next time I'll be refused entry into the country, likely to be busted at LaGuardia LOL! Yes... R. Kelly is a real class act... One to bring home to your Mom and Dad! I had not heard of John the last time I was in NYC, so now I have another thing on my to-do list. Thanks, Jade! Nice story and pic!

Okay, does make sense actually. It's like someone would ask you to recommend a record and if they were looking for opera and you came up with some death metal stuff, they might not be completely satisfied (but then, who knows.. ). I'm pretty much like most any 'bloody tourist' - speaking of NYC means speaking of Manhattan (never been to any other Borough, except for Brooklyn, which is a shame I know). Do you live in Manhattan? Anyhoo, I'd stick to the obvious - Soho, East Village, Greenwich Village, West Village, TriBeCa, Flatiron Dist., maybe something Upper East Side. Asian-accented cuisine would be nice, sushi, seafood etc. and classic New York food or new American cuisine of course. Reasonably priced if possible. "Fancy nice place for a special occasion" sounds tempting (I'm afraid the "bomb cheap food" is what I already know... ) I'm really not complicated when it comes to restaurants - nice atmosphere, nice staff, nice people (like you!) and I'm happy! What's this??? I thought the 'ß' (we call it 'sz') is something only we have!

Fancy, nice places are easy to find! I'd like to know about the bomb cheap food that only locals know about! Any type of cuisine, even your favorite deli would be great to know. Any neighborhood that you choose to tell us about, would be great to hear about!

there's 10,000+ restaurants.ß.. Soho - Balthazar (pastries and fancy food), Dean & Deluca (gourmet coffee and snacks), Acme (hangover curing brunch), East Village - 6th street between 1st and 2nd avenue is all Indian. Eat at Brick Lane Curry House if you can or for cheap but good price fixe, Spice Cove. Supper on 2nd street, italian. Sea That Bistro on 2nd Avenue. Westville on Avenue A. Gemma @ Bowery Hotel (italian), West Village - Corner Bistro (West 4th and Jane) best burgers on the planet. Belgian Beer bar (frites and moules) on W. 4th, Westville. Pink Tea Cup (soulfood) on Grove Street. TriBeCa - Dylan Prime or Wolfgang's (Steakhouse) Lower East Side - Clinton Street Baking Co. (best brunch in the city), Frankie's Spuntino (Clinton Street below houston) Italian, Kuma Inn (asian tapas), Cube 63 (Sushi), Barrio Chino (mexican), Schillers Liquor Bar (bistro food), Katz's Deli, Georgia's East Side BBQ, stick to west village or east village, more dense and better local spots i don't really go above 14th street if I can help it. tribeca has nice places but its a bit out of the way. same with flatiron or upper east. There's tons more. but this is off the top of my head.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! J.
