I hear Rockwood Music Hall is worth a visit... October 13th... Are you planning your trip already ;D? ;D You know me don't you? Actually, check out flights and hotels has been the first thing I did when I read this news (at half past five in the morning I might add) - looks good on paper, still need to get some work commitments sorted though, so nothing booked yet. Unfortunately, Thompson LES rates are a bit high at this time (about $400 per night I think)! ROFL! Now I have that R. Kelly song in my head- "After the show it's the after party. After the party it's the hotel Lobby!".... I guess the 'R. Kelly' bit is not going to happen then...

Try ACE Hotel. New and should be cheaper. Very cool vibe too. Also hotels that are in midtown and are less "boutique-y" will be a bit cheaper.

As yet I didn't try ACE Hotel but will do so now. As for less "boutique-y" (nice term hotels in midtown, last year we stayed at the New Yorker near Madison Square Garden. Nothing special really, but reasonably ok (apart from wake-up calls that never materialized). Might be an option again or Hampton Inn SoHo.

Wow! The history of The Jane is amazing! If I were traveling alone, I would love to stay there just to soak up the history! Although I feel a little claustrophobic just looking at the pictures of the rooms! ;D I really like The Ace Hotel though! Thanks for the recommendation Matt! Very cool!

Aww, Gray and Missy, that's bad luck, I can't believe... Hopefully there'll be some more dates announced soon so you'll get the opportunity to see him live one day!! Fingers crossed! I think there's a hotel thats on a boat in the hudson. small rooms $100/night. bare bones... this is it I think: www.thejanenyc.com/#/rooms/0I've been working my way through so many booking sites recently, but never got this one! Now that's really cheap (almost as cheap as the scary Carter) and definitely something unusual. A boat in the Hudson, how come I'm feeling kinda seasick right now? Okay, rooms are not quite so boutique-y and spacious, but then again, it's a matter of imagination rather than space to make this a 'fancy nice place for a special occasion'. Thank you, thank you, Matt! What would I do without you?
