As I was already talking 'basslines' in the other thread, here's another example where I think the bass actually makes the song (especially the chorus): Coldplay - "Paradise", Guy Berryman - Bass www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP6TnGszjDsI got Coldplay's "Mylo Xyloto" for Christmas and I'm sorry to say that the album didn't meet my expectations at all. A few nice songs on there, but overall nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. Far too 'mainstream' for my liking. BTW, has any of you watched the Grammy's this year? I was quite shocked - What happened to Chris Martin's voice?? His hair might have been quite nice, but he was definitely heaving a 'bad vocal' day. www.youtube.com/watch?v=VivPv1kYmYYI saw Coldplay twice performing live and they were fantastic. So, I felt a bit sorry for Mister Martin as he sounded so awful that night, at times completely out of tune - and there were so many people watching all around the world. At least he got to duet with Rihanna at the same event, I imagine this may have saved his day.
