I think God status is a public way to show everybody who is the most addicted member to this messageboard. And so, the power is to monoploze all topics LOL! About the mysterious Departures album, the bidding has ended Ebays says, I wonder if anyone has bought it finally (there's someone from Germany who made a question about the pay method...) LOL! Hogging the threads... I do do that pretty well! Hahah! OK, not to be Debbie Downer but I really want to cry, scream and/or hit something really hard!!!! And I wish I could hit from the shoulder like a guy not like the little, wimpy, girly girl that I am with my frail, birdy arm punches! The mysterious Departures sold for 0.99 GBP ($1.62 US) but the shipping cost is 3.00 GBP. Seriously, that is tragic and ironic! That can't have been legal! I guess one could argue that it's no different than selling used records but somehow I feel as though this is different since the album hasn't been released. Of course, I have bought a few scalped football tickets and used records in my day, so I probably shouldn't throw stones but still it just seems sad and wrong, particularly in light of the fact that John is an emerging independent artist who paid to make the record on his own dime rather than an established artist on a big label! Well at least the guy didn't make any money off of it unless he got it for free and even then... 99 cents! Can you even buy anthing with 99 cents? Not even a pack of gum. Also, it's about 2 weeks before the realese date, so what was the F****G point of all of that? Sorry for ranting, guys! Congrats on "God" status missalabama!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks, Kerpea! ;D I do feel like a member of an elite task force or at least a secret club... Or even better, someone who knew about Zeppelin or U2 before they were famous! ;D ;D Seriosly though, this board is slightly addicting! AA might be in order! I must say, I have more fun here than on that other English bloke's board... But don't tell him though cuz I guess he's a bit of alright too! ;D

No need to apologize, Missy, that really is an issue worth ranting about and I totally get your point. This could not have been legal, and even if it was, it's just morally wrong. And now for something completely different: Congrats on your GOD status from me too!!! Like Lucy, I too believe that this is a label for the most addicted here... quite likely the abbrevation for 'G-arrison O-bsessed D-evotee', in other words: those that keenly observe his every move... musically-wise of course!! ;D

Glad I'm not the only one who is miffed at this! You are right, it just seems morally wrong. I mean, I wonder if the person has even listened to it. This guy obviously has no idea how much and for how long we boardies have been dying to get our hands on this album. Obviously, the person just doesn't get it... I mean really get the pure beauty, sincerity and honesty of the album that can't be put into a monetary price. ;D I keep thinking about all of the hard work that has been put into this project by John, Matt, Gaz, Ben, Marisela and everyone else I haven't named ... I think that Departures (and of course, all of John's music) has an integrity to it that is rare to find in the music industry today... Then I think about the thoughtlessness of some talentless, idiotic joker who can't get a real job and is trying to make a dime off of someone else's work... And I just want to vomit! There I go again... Don't get me started on fake Gucci sellers or ticket scalpers! And now for something completely different: Congrats on your GOD status from me too!!! LOL @ Garrison Obsessed Devotee! SOOOO TRUE! Hi, my name is Missy and I am addicted to John Garrison's music and message board! Hahaha! This place really is like AA! Folks who aren't garrisonized just don't get it... I guess being a GOD on the Garrison board is my girly version of being a guy who is an obsessed Football fan for his team... Something I just don't get! Hahah! ;D

Don't get me started on fake Gucci sellers or ticket scalpers! AMEN Sista!!!! I actually have one of those fake Gucci's along with a pair of fake 7 For All Mankind Jeans, a Louis Vuitton Papillon, and even Mac makeup...the list goes on forever...I don't buy items like from eBay anymore without doing extensive research...thank God paypal insures your purchase! I guess being a GOD on the Garrison board is my girly version of being a guy who is an obsessed Football fan for his team... Something I just don't get! Hahah! ;D OMG!! I soooo agree! Though I think my husbands football obsession far exceeds my JG obsession...my husband watches ESPN 24 hours a day! Then on Saturday & Sunday we have to plan our day around which games he is going to watch...and if we go out to eat on Monday night we HAVE to be home in time for Monday night football...I swear he is going to put stat boards up in the living room by the time the National Championship and Superbowl rolls around...LOL!!!

Oh! I didn't know that there were fake 7's or that there was fake make-up! WOW! Can you imagine the work that goes into that? At that point, wouldn't it be easier to produce your own line? I have a Gucci that I got on ebay and I am not certain whether it is a fake or a real one... It looks real to me and it has an authenticity tag in it but still I just don't know. I took it into the Gucci store in NY and was going to ask them to check on it but I got so many compliments on it from the sales people, I couldn't bring myself to ask. LOL! I guess being a GOD on the Garrison board is my girly version of being a guy who is an obsessed Football fan for his team... Something I just don't get! Hahah! ;D OMG!! I soooo agree! OMG! ROFL!!!! Yes, it does sound like his football obsession is worse than your JG obsession! Poor Kerpea! The men in my family are golfers and most of the guys I have dated have been golf or tennis fans, rather than football fans. So I always feel sorry for those girls who have football husbands/boyfriends! Hey, at least he's not one who will go shirtless and paint himself! I always wonder what possesses guys to do that! As much as I LOVE John, I would never paint myself red and with a JG on my chest at his concerts! I'm certain he would be glad of that! As a Univ. of Alabama alum, I am a fan of the Crimson Tide but it is not a life or death thing for me. I do love to go to football games, but for me it is more of an excuse to hang out with friends and have drinks and food. I never understood my friends who would not go out after games that we lost. I mean, it's only a football game. I guess you could say, it's only a concert too but football just doesn't speak to my sould the way John's music does!

THIS IS SO CUTE!!!!! ;D Mega Karma for you Kerpea! Thanks for making my day! You and your family are just adorable! WOW! That is an incredible stadium! I can't get over how big it is! And I thought the O2 in London was big! Hahaha! Everything is bigger in Texas! That was a long drive! How long does it take to get from OKC to Dallas? Go, Kerpea's Hubby, on being the one who would paint himself!! I wouldn't have the guts! Plus, nobody needs to see me painted with just a bra on! LOL! One time at an Alabama vs. Auburn game, there were some girls sitting next to me in just their bras and they were painted red with white As on their chests. The craziest part was that on that day, we had a freak, 100-year cold-snap and it was about 15 degrees outside and snowing! Needless to say, they had so much Jack in them, I don't think they felt anything! Hahaha! I was only sitting next to them and I was looking for a lampshade to wear on my head! My friend and I only made it to half-time because it was so COLD! Good times! I may not paint myself at a game or John's concerts but I definitley would brave 15 degree weather to hear him play... Jack and Coke in hand, flask smuggled in shoe! ROFL! Oh yeah, I fogot to mention that as Alabama is the bible belt, they don't allow alcohol at the stadium in Tuscaloosa so everyone has to smuggle in their Booze! HAHAHAH! I once duct taped a flask to my inner thigh! P.S. I saw your son's YouTube page! That is way too cute! AW! You're so lucky to have such a sweet little boy!

Dallas is about a 3 hour drive...we go down there quite a bit to get out of town for a few days...plus they have a Tiffany & Co., Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Juicy Couture & Burberry stores plus a few more...so I am in heaven when we go down there! My son's YouTube is hillarious...it is his life right now. I don't say much about it...he gets embarrassed if you ask about any of his videos...but he's getting better at putting them together and he's having fun, so I let him. I kind of wish we had YouTube back in my day...I would have had a lot of fun with that...considering back then I was going to grow up and be Loretta Lynn or Patsy Cline...then for a few years I wanted to be Carrie from Days of Our Lives...then I wanted to be Maria in West Side Story...it would have been fun to test my skills on YouTube. As for painting yourself...I would most definitely wear nothing but a bra (bikini top) and paint a big JG on my chest if I had to....if it meant a chance to see him live and in the flesh I'd do just about anything!!! NO JOKE!!! I have no problem making a fool out of myself for something I believe in! ;D Oh...and the fake Gucci...if you can't tell the difference then most other people won't. I have one fake (which I bought on eBay which was being sold as authentic and when I got it I knew right away it wasn't) and two real Gucci's and I'll be honest the small imperfections on the fake are so minimal that only someone with OCD (like me) would even know...and you'd have to get into the nitty gritty of the stitching and weight of the hardware to even know. I have a handbag obsession and I research each luxury handbag I buy to the tee...from material texture to hardware, color, shape, size, weight, and even the exact color of the thread...but I'm a special case...LOL! ;D ;D Just don't buy a Louis Vuitton with the LV's going in different directions with a suede liner...that is a fake I can spot a mile away

That's not too bad of a drive then... I've always heard that the shopping is great in Dallas. I've never been there though. Neiman Marcus flagship store is there. I LOVE Neiman's. My Dad calls it Needless Mark-ups! I kind of wish they had had YouTube when I was a kid too! I can only imagine the sily videos my childhood friends and I would have made. I can see you making YouTube videos, Kerpea. I bet you can sing. You have a sweeet voice. Oh, and I love Patsy Cline too. I think she had one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. The Divas of today don't hold a candle to her, in my opinion. Don't get me started on Mariah Carey! LOL @ Carrie from Days! I used to love her too. I watched Days every day during lunch at the sorority house when I was in College. LOL! BTW, I was a very reluctant sorority girl! My parents made me do it. They wouldn't pay my tuition if I didn't go Greek because it is a big deal in the South... And of course, I had to do my Mom's sorority! Blaaah! Blaah! The funniest part was when they were all Blaring Hootie and the Blowfish, I was blaring Nirvana! LOL! That's why it's kind of funy funny that I like Blunty! One of my guy friends really teases me about that! ;D Hey Kerpea, I've already made quite a COMPLETE FOOL of myself around John.... With my shirt on and not painted! I can only imagine the complete and utter disaster that would certainly ensue from throwing a shirtless, bikini-topped Missy, painted red with JG on my chest into the mix. That could only lead to TROUBLE!!!!! I now can see John running from Kerpea and Missy like one of those old black and white movie shots of The Beatles running from their screaming fans in A Hard Day's Night. ROFL! Though shoes are my thing, I do love handbags too! I normally only buy from real stores but I did buy that particular one on ebay. It was advertised as real, looks real and has an authenticity tag. I think it's real but there is always a little voice in the back of my mind saying it may not be. I normally don't purposely buy fakes because I had a minor in fashion and I took a whole class on legal issues that companies have with fakes. The reason I bought this particular Gucci was that it was very rare, limited edition one that I had been wanting for ages and it was impossible to find. The reason that I didn't ask in the Gucci store was that I really didn't want to find out that I had been swindled and if the Gucci sales people thought it was a real one, then it really doesn't matter. I guess in the end, all that matters is if you like the bag. I am like you though, there's nothing that I hate more than those really bad LV fakes! Hahaha!

Thank you, kerpea, for the link to this lovely video, sooo cute! BTW, I got a Jack Daniel's advert before the actual video started - what a coincidence! ;D Regarding men and sports, I know exactly what you're talking about, Keri (I even seem to recall we've been discussing this issue before here on the boards)! My sweetheart is pretty much the same as yours when it comes to football (or soccer as you "crazy" Americans would call it ). Yet he keeps telling me his obsession with football and my obsession with the music of sensitive singer/songwriters with guitars are completely different things, as he adores his team as a whole without crushing on one of the guys in particular (Phew!), whereas I keep focusing on a Solo Artist of the opposite sex (shocking!) for almost 2 years now. Okay, let's face it, I'm guilty as charged! But then again, it's not my fault that Mister Garrison isn't a Band (even though he could be one, considering all the different instruments he's able to play) and neither am I to blame that he is not only such a hugely talented musician but also happens to be so easy on the eyes. Sounds logical to me as far as defense goes... I'm yet to convince him, though... ;D Still, he came with me to see John's show in Copenhagen... and liked it alot... so, it's all good!

I'm here! OMG!! I soooo agree! Though I think my husbands football obsession far exceeds my JG obsession...my husband watches ESPN 24 hours a day! Sounds like a great defense to me... Sounds like he's maybe a wee bit jealous! It's definitely not your fault! No one can help how easy on the eyes John is or the fact he isn't in a band! Hey, I also focus on singer songwriters of the opposite sex. I can't help it. I blame the music industry. I've been wanting for years to find a female artist that I am CRAZY about as much as my boys but there just aren't that many female musicians out there whose music I connect with. Nerina Pallot, Carina Round and Shannon Worrell are the few ones I've found that I truly enjoy! I truly think that the industry doesn't really promote serious female musicains such as these but it promotes sexy, girly, bubble-gum pop singer/dancer type performers instead. Anyway, enough rambling, Glad your boyfriend liked John, Jade!

ROFL!!!! I think I've read this a bit late LOL Sorry Missy I've just needed some free time (half an hour in fact and coffee on the other hand) to read about fake handbags and JG painted on skin ROFL! OMFG, you're so brave Keri, cheers for you! LOL I'd never have enough courage to do that, I only thought about making a t-shirt with a photomontage with random JG pics, but not done at the end LOL It would be so embarrassing for me... I don't like to be the focus of attention. Yeah, you're right Missy, it's a bit quiet here lately, everybody's busy I guess, some because of job, family, and all that, and others just worrying about what to put on the suitcase! I wish I could put you and Gray on my highlighter green suitcase! (highlighter green, is that correct? Ha ha! Some problems with translation of tonality of the color)
