HMMMM..... Mine stopped working about a week ago... when you click on it, there is a pop-up that says connecting to URL and then it does nothing... Weird.

The same here, I guess the webmaster remove the song from the website. We didn't download the song itself, just a direct link to somewhere in the website where webmaster put the song, and the song isn't there anymore  And I have a question, I didn't read John's MySpace for a loooong long time , just visiting to listen the music while I was in other websites, and now I noticed about the looong bio, is it new? No idea about when it was posted, but I must say it's the better bio I've read, and not only because the explanation about Let's Run! |

Thanks for telling about that, haven't seen it... this bio is wonderful and I love the explanation of 'Let's Run'. I can relate to that at the moment  and see this song in a new way now. |

Thanks, Lucy! I just read it too. It must be a new one... Though like you, Lucy, I haven't read the bio section of the website in a long while. Either way, it's a great bio. I wonder who wrote it. He or she is a very good writer. I love that Tennessee Williams got a mention... He is one of my favorite Southern writers! Have y'all ever seen the Paul Newman, Liz Taylor movie version of "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof?" One of my all time favorites! Sorry... Back to John's Bio. Interesting that "Let's Run" is the one kid that got the big mention... I bet the others are jealous now! Hehe! Anyway, I have a new appreciation of "Let's Run" now. I guess I haven't paid enough attention to it yet.... Got distracted by the other, noisier kiddies...

Actually I visit his MySpace and Facebook page almost every day (as it's still the only way to access and listen to the new songs), but only noticed the new biography last Saturday I think.
I totally agree, it's great and very well written. I loved every word of it. So interesting to learn something about "Departures" from John's perspective, because personally I often feel that my comments on his songs or the music of any other artist for that matter are a bit like a musical Rorschach test, saying more about the person who wrote it (me in that case) than the artist it was written about. But then again, that's probably the nature of a message board.
A single?? Aww, then there should be a video for "Let's Run", too!!!
Can't wait to experience the album as a whole and give it a good old-fashioned listen in its entirety. That 'tracks streaming online' is great of course, but somehow it's like looking at a painting while some parts are covered. It's about time to 'take the wraps' off the record, I desperately need to see the whole 'picture'!!!
61 days until 10/11/09... still soooooo long... the waiting is the hardest part and somehow time seems to move slower than when I was a kid waiting for X-mas or school to end... *sigh*

Lets' Run rocks and it's the best!!!!!! (for me) Ha ha! For me it's a tie between "So Close" and "Go" with "Second for the first Time," and "I leave on Friday" close behind. Am now listening to let's Run more... P.S. See, it's probably good that I am not a music exec, I would have made "I leave on Friday" the first single... Though I usually am not a big fan of the single anyway... I like albums better! A single?? Aww, then there should be a video for "Let's Run", too!!! let's got crossed fingers for that ;D I'm so happy! Oh... I wonder if that's why the Piano mix of "So Close" doesn't work anymore... The same here, I think they're working on Facebook because I found lots of mistakes....
I though Friday was going to be the single as well, but I won't complain if it's Let's Run instead ;D
I love singles just to find new remixes or versions, and the lovely b-sides! When I was younger my aim was to get ALL singles by Robbie Williams ROFL! Really impossible!!!

(What's doing John in LA? ?) HMMMM... I don't know but I hope he's making a video!!! He could be doing promos for Departures. What a tough life John leads! He has lived in NYC and London and traveled the world... And on top of it all he gets to play music! South of France and LA in 2 weeks... I'm not jealous at all! Yeah right! I want to be a musician! Why coundn't I have had musical talent? I guess being a professional boardie will have to do! |
