Thought I would start a Movie thread:
I just saw Bruno and must say that it is absolutely the WORST movie ever made in the history of movie making! It was so GROSS!!!! It makes Jackass and Tom Green look like Shakespeare!!! On a scale from 1-10, I give it a -100000000!!!!! If I had not been with friends, I would have walked out and demanded my money back.
I also saw the Hangover... Absolutely hilarious! Love this one! It's right up there with Office Space, Old School and Animal House... Though I'm glad I didn't take my Mom to see it. I don't think she could have handled it. She did love The Proposal though. It was cute... Very predictable but a cute romantic comedy. And three words: shirtless Ryan Reynolds! Nothing more need be said, right?

I just saw 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'. A cute romantic comedy, my favorite ! Also 'Grand Torino' with Clint Eastwood! Very good! Will make you laugh and will definitely make you cry!! Also 'The Tale of Benjamin Button' Another will make you laugh/will make cry story! Very well done, but too sad for me!!

Hey, devlin, I saw 'Confessions of a shopaholic' too. Have to agree, it was kind of cute, not that deep a meaning though. And Hugh Dancy was sooo sweet, don't you think. Another English womanizing bastard!

I'd like to see The Proposal, looks like a funny romantic film for not thinking too much, and it's Sandra Bullock! I love that actress. But economy is not for going to cinema at the moment (it's so expensive here). Last time I went to the cinema it was in March (I think) for watching Twilight, BIG disappointment when you are a fan of the books before they become too comercial... Well, I guess there's no film enough good if it came from a book, books are usually so much better.... But last days I've been watching some movies at home from the 80's. For example, Labyrinth or The Goonies LOL! Any of you remember them? And I watched Hocus Pocus as well, I never get tired of watching it, although it's so childish and silly, but it's sooo funny! And the song Spell On You by Bette Midler is very infectious! ;D www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jKBCyIgxqo

They always play Hocus Pocus on TV here in October, and I have to sneak watch it because my husband makes fun of me!! I know it's cheesy, but I like it anyway! Besides, that is as scary of a movie as I can handle! I don't like really scary ones,.........only the ones made for kids are all I can handle!!

I love Sandra Bullock too! I think The Proposal is my new favorite of her movies. Hey Lucy, Movies are expensive here now...Though the drinks and snacks are more expensive than the movie. Matinees are $6.50 and primetime are $13. Crazy! When I was a kid, matinees were $1.75 and primetime were $3 and I used to make my movie money by babysitting. Haha! So now I like Netflix. It's a great bargain! OMG! Lucy! I love the Goonies! I can't watch scary movies either, Devlin! I still have nightmares from Rosemary's Baby! Hey, devlin, I saw 'Confessions of a shopaholic' too. Have to agree, it was kind of cute, not that deep a meaning though. And Hugh Dancy was sooo sweet, don't you think. Another English womanizing bastard! I have been wanting to see this as I am definitely a shopaholic! Hmmm.... "Another English womanizing bastard!" Why do the womanizing bastards always come with those dams sexy accents? I just saw "He's just not that into you." It is hilarious. Love that one!

Why do the womanizing bastards always come with those dams sexy accents? Why, oh why? *sigh* .... We'll never know! But do they always??? What about Mister Brazil? www.youtube.com/watch?v=0J2ad-zJjk0Maybe it's because Karl is way sexier than most any accent in the world, maybe it's because the Brummie accent is basically a wee bit too strong for my liking, but in my ever so humble opinion, in the case of Mister Brazil, the man is by far sexier than the accent. Alroit! Oh, and would you believe that some of them English womanizers (actually the most 'mean' ones ) put on their accent recklessly and on purpose?? ;D If only I knew who wrote this....

LOL @ my typo! Note to self: sign up for typing class! "Alroit" Too cute! Aw, I think it's sexy... His voice is nice, I think. Of course, you could be right, Jade, maybe I'm blinded by how HOT Karl is! Brummie accent isn't subtle but I can't judge as am from Alabama! My accent is SOO NOT sexy! Good thing I got the gams!!! LOL kidding! Don't have those either! Uh-Oh, guess I'm SOL! OMG!!! ROFL, JADE! "Put on my extra English accent to impress the chicks!" Hilarious! Hmmm... I wonder who could have said that? Wink! Wink! Though somehow I can picture James saying something like this too!

This weekend, I saw a movie called The Visitor. It was really good and I highly recommend it, especially to all Americans. To me it was an important reminder of what our country was founded on. Something that we, today, seem to forget so easily. With all the unrest about illegal immigrants, it shows us what we're taking for granted and reminds us that we're all human beings. It's set in New York I didn't make it sound too appealing, did I?! But has some funny parts and partly a happy ending.

I've just seen the trailer on YouTube (as I did with the other two films you mentioned because I didn't have a clue what you were talking about LOL), and The Visitor looks like a great film, I'm going to look for it next time I go to videoclub. Thanks Devlin I've never heard of "The Hangover", and "He's just not that into you" I remember watching the trailer once at home and saying: I want to see that film, just because there were a lot of good actresses and actors, but that's all. Another one for the list It's strange how people translate titles of films... That one in Spanish is something like "What happens with the men?" LOL
