Me too! I didn't have an idea about this. Is it the documentary that James filmed?
Last night we watched the half part of The Great Dictator, with Charles Chaplin. I fell asleep near to the end LOL But I hope to see the end tonight. Any of you have you ever watched a Chaplin film?

What's it about? (well, for me there's no one like Johnny Deep ;D ) watch at home Last film I saw was Coraline ("Coraline and the secret door" in Australia, "Coraline's Worlds" in Spain... Translators, bleh!), which was a good film to discuss with my friends if that film is for children or not. I like it very much anyway, probably I'm going to buy it I liked very much the story of the little girl in The Other World where she has everything she wants, but everything is not as easy as it seems. I love the character of the cat, it's so funny! Johnny Depp is completely awesome! I love his off-beat style. He's the only one who can do those kinds of characters so well! I plan on buying Coraline as well, my daughter really likes that sort of stuff, but I must admit that I enjoy it too even if it's marketed as a childrens movie..........it's still really entertaining!

I prefer not watching horror Japanese film, these people are VERY good making this kind of films, I only watched the start of one of them and that was enough LOL Besides, I'm having nightmares lately, every night I'm watching TV series Criminal Minds (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0452046/), so I think that's why I dream about someone going into home at night to kill us Anyone knows this series?

Though I hope they'll still be showing "My Sister's Keeper" when I'm in Dublin in two weeks... so wanna see that movie in English... it just won't be the same in German... I said I’m not really a movies person but while over in Dublin I saw “My Sister’s Keeper” & “The Ugly Truth”. My Sister’s Keeper. What shall I say? I honestly didn’t expect much, probably nothing at all (I just wanted to see it). I mean it is a screen adaption of a book and it’s Hollywood… but I have to say it was one of the best movies I have ever seen. It was SO emotional, moving, touching etc. They stuck so close to the book (with all the different outlooks, time difference) that I was really surprised. While sitting in my seat I already thought of people I need to recommend the movie to…. Yeah and then the last ten minutes kicked in AND ruined everything. Even though I didn’t expect much I’m now SO SO SO disappointed. I’m still somehow speechless and can’t believe what they did there. For someone who hasn’t read the book it’s still a really sad and moving movie BUT SO predictable that any money isn’t worth watching it. I’m so sad, this could have been the best screen adaption of a book for me but it’s so terrible I can’t watch it a second time. For someone who has read the book it’s just incomprehensible why they’ve let the movie end the way it does now. I really don’t understand it. The GREAT thing about the book is that it DOES NOT end the way everybody would think it does instead the ending is such a big surprise… you just wouldn’t expect it (at least I and loads of other people didn’t) at all. In my eyes the ending is THE MOST IMPORTANT thing in the book but whoever made the movie just COMPLETELY changed it to the most predictable ending ever… I will never ever understand that. The friend I watched the movie with said: “It’s like filming the story of the Titanic without the ship sinking in the end.” Nobody would do that but that’s exactly what they did to My Sister’s Keeper. Really sad! On the other hand “The Ugly Truth” was well worth watching it. It was just SO funny that at some point I cried laughing. I will definitely be watching it again as soon as it hits cinemas over here. Great movie!

I feel the same way as you over movie adaptations of novels. The ending is the most important part. The worst one ever in my opinion is the Demi Moore version of Hawthorne's "The Scarlet Letter." They completely changed the ending. LOL! Who changes a classic? That's like changing the ending to Romeo and Juliet or Hamlet.
I just saw the best movie, "Bobby Jones: Stroke of Genius." It's about Bobby Jones, the ony golfer in history to ever win a grand slam. Even if you are not a golfer, it is very inspiring story.

I guess John would like to see that film LOL I'm not very much in golf (I do not like it in fact), but who knows? I don't like baseball and I liked the films about it.... Last two films I watched: Drag Me To Hell and Up. The first one I went alone (yeah, in my birthday, what I was thinking of? !) and it's.... Good, not very good, it has some mistakes but I got scared, that was the aim, isn't it? But Up just... I LOVE IT, although I cried from begging to end, it's not just a story for kids (SOOOOO funny I must say), but it has a very emotional and beautiful love story behind all that childish stuff. Maybe it was because it was a surprise as the trailer doesn't show anything about why the old man is carrying the house with balloons. Really worth to watch it... I haven't seen The Hangover yet but it's becoming successful here in Spain.... Everybody's talking about it and how hilarious it is...

Even though it is a Golf movie, it really isn't about golf. It's about overcoming great obstacles in life and trying to find your place in the world... Or at least that's how I see the theme anyway. My whole family are golfers. I have clubs and have taken some lessons but I wouldn't really call myself a golfer, just a very bad beginner. I love to follow professional golf though. I know it's weird but I find it more interesting to follow than professional football, baseball or basketball. Plus, I find golfers cuter than football players... Hehe! I'm not that into meatheaded jocks. Hehe! I also don't like baseball but love baseball movies. My two favorites are Bull Durham and A League of their Own. "There's no crying in baseball!" That has to be one of the best movie lines ever! www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWoD2sQ9LiUHere's my favorite Bull Durham Scene: www.youtube.com/watch?v=lptsSTTWLVQCrash Davis: "We're dealing with a lot of s***." ROFL!!!! Scary movies are too much for me... They frighten me too much but it sounds like you like scary movies, so that's good for you, Lucy. You have more guts than I do then. Up does look cute. Now that you mentioned it, I may have to check it out. You won't believe this but I have never seen a Pixar cartoon... Hehe! I'm OLD! I think the last cartoon that I saw at the theater was probably The Jungle Book or The Fox and the Hound... Hehe! Those were the olden days when cartoons were made by hand. "The Bear necessities!" I loved that song and I had the record when I was a kid. It would be cute to hear John sing that! Hahahahah! ;D I definitely recommend The Hangover! It is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen! I think the Mike Tyson scene has to be the funniest part! THough it's all funny! I laughed from beginning to end! My best friend just told me that Julie and Julia is great and that the girl who plays Julie looks a lot like me, so now I have to go see it. I love to cook, so I am excited about this one. My Mom and I are going to see it tomorrow. Will tell y'all about it after I see it.

I've got a question as everyone here seems to know so much more about films than I do: does anyone know if a film called "Princess Ka'iulani" or "Barbarian Princess" or "Last Princess" has been released yet? Obviously it was meant to be released in Germany first, but I had never heard of this film before and Google doesn't help...

For those titles I don't know, have you tried www.imdb.com ? It's a database for films and series. What's the original title?
