Is it a colored version of that last pic? Or was it taken originally in b&w? What the voice says at the end of "Go", from minute 05'09'' to 06'15''? No idea what the words are but just the rhythm of sentences reminds me of last lines of Dreamstealers ("...Cause you promised me, and I believed, I believed you in all your lies, all your promises..." or something like that, sorry, difficult song to get the lyrics by ear ). Just curiosity This question is not mine: do you like Quentin Tarantino? A girl said that Footprints has a very Tarantino sound, above all, at the 2nd fragment of the instrumental part (from minute 2'58''). What's a "bridge" on a song??? I've read you saying that some time ago... Thanks for your patience ;D ;D ;D It was taken like that and cut and finished by Julian. He has an amazing eye. Well spotted. It is the voice from from Dreamstealers. Just slowed down. Speed it up and it is the same. you will see. I love Tarantino yes, but more to the point, he loves Ennio Moriconne and uses his music a lot. I am a fan of Moriconne and therefore was inspired by the man directly.

Bonsoir ! Si tu devais interpreter un duo, avec quelle chanteuse le ferais tu avec plaisir ? Sur quel sujet ? I would like to duet with Prince. Or Francis Dunnery

Does your family ever attend your gigs? If so, do they make you nervous (anymore than staring fans with video cameras that is )?... Do they ever heckle you or is that only your friends? yes I love links courses but they are tough. How long have you been playing golf and what is your handicap? Do any of the other boys in Blunty's band play, and if so, did y'all have any time to play while y'all were on tour? Have you ever played The Old Course? I think were I 20 now I would be a producer to be honest. Sorry for being nosy on this one but my only question is, "WHY???" I'm so very, very happy that you're not a producer! Your music is absolutley beautiful! I am so excited that I discovered it... (Thank you, Blunty! Without you, I wouldn't have found it)!!! Budapest and Garrison solo music has meant a lot to me... More than I could ever express! ;D What's with all the random stuff at the studio? LOL! Mannequin, Disco ball... I swear I thought I saw a pic that had action figure toys in it... Or maybe I have watched too much seinfeld... Yes my family come but they are well behaved generally I started golf when I was 10. I play off 9 handicap now but was off 5 in my peak, aged 17. Benny plays a bit. I played lots of golf with the crew. Benny and I had a little game in Harrisonburg once. No not played the Old Course I was a pretty good producer when I was 20. I just didn't realise till recently. I listen back and hear some pretty amazing things that I did musically. Yet my lyrics were cringe worthy. I had a lot more patience back then which you need to be a producer. But I hadn't lived yet so lyrically I was guessing. No idea what all the stuff is. It's Guy Chambers studio not mine.

Oh my.... This isn't supposed to be the topic for asking John questions? ROFL Okay, let's ask something... anything.... *loading question* I've got it: How would you feel if someone tape your songs from MySpace just for own benefit, only for listening? I am fine with people sharing my music. But you have to remember, if everyone did it, then I wouldn't have any income and therefore not be able to make more records. So in a strange way, its cutting your own supply of future music. Plus it sounds bad on Myspace. I think for the sake of 79p, its worth buying a track. But I am more about people hearing my music than being rich so I'm not bothered at all. as long as some people buy it so I don't have to work at McDonalds...!!!

Oh my.... This isn't supposed to be the topic for asking John questions? ROFL Okay, let's ask something... anything.... ROFL!! SO SORRY, Girlies and John! I do have a tendency to ramble and lead the discussion to weird tangents! Must work on that Sidebar: Anyone have a Tylenol?............ DEVLIN? Real Question here: Are you going to try to do a US or European tour for Departures or just play a small amount of gigs? How would a tour work if you plan to remain indie, as it is usually the labels that pay for the tour, correct? I guess it would depend on how well Departures sells, right? Are you looking to find a major label or do you prefer to remain indie? I am playing in NYC and Canada in March. I hope to play in Chicago and around there in the summer. But yes, you are right. Record labels usually pay for this so I am paying for this myself and therefore keeping it very short. I just don't have that kind of money. Of course the better Departures sells, the more places I can go to. I am not looking for a label but if one came along that spoke the same language as me, then I would listen. Unfortunately most labels speak a language I have no intention of ever learning.

Do you know how many copies of Above The Cosmos you sold? Why is so expensive to "make" a tour? Is it because you have to pay a band, the transport of the instruments, or you have to pay to the venues before the show? (No idea at all about touring world works). What's the most expensive thing in doing a tour? No I was working with Gary Barlow on some of his new tracks. He was feeling very creative and I was on the same wavelength that day. One of those good days where everything just works Sorry for being a pain with this but as a Barlow fan I am, as much as yours, I have to ask you more about this: which songs? The ones of his new album, or maybe songs for the series he's producing? How did you meet him? Did you meet the rest of Take That members as well? Imagining two of you working together just makes me so happy that you'll ever know... Would you like the idea of being one of the support artists of Take That? (letting my dreams fly, fly away...) ;D Yes I have figures. I sold enough of Cosmos to make Departures but not enough to tour and promote it. Flights, hotels, soundmen, musicians, taxis, buses, food for everyone. PLus the venue take most the money from the door Travel, other people's wages and hotels. I worked on some of Gary's new songs for other artists. Playing the bass and guitar. He did all the writing. Didn't meet the other TT guys. Of course I would love to support TT but it ain't gonna happen I'm afraid. Not unless Departures suddenly sells loads over night.

I am always available to supply Tylenol...............or Motrin, to a friend in need! ;D AW! Thanks! Back at ya, Sista! ;D ;D ;D REAL QUESTION HERE, I PROMISE! Random technical question here: Did Julian use a flash on the Millenium Bridge shot or was there enough light from the bridge? Sorry, I know that's random but photography is one of my hobbies! Hey John, do we Boardies make you laugh? I hope you enjoy reading our posts, as much as I enjoy logging on here! If not, at least I think it would be a fabulous insight into how we gals think. Sidebar: I hope we don't scare Gutbuster away with our girlie talk! Yes he used a flash. Of course you make me laugh. When I have the time to be on here.

Thanks for the updates regarding your biography, John. Since you're no longer as chatty as you used to be in your "Cosmos" days, posting a long blog almost every week - I thoroughly enjoyed reading everything what was written there about you and the new album. Did your publicist write this? Nice to know that "Departures" CD's arrived at YOUR door two weeks ago, hope I can say the same in a few weeks of time. Why does 'generating buzz' take so long? Will there be a single coming out prior to the album? YOU BET!!!!What was the best piece of advice you ever got about music? And about women? Whom do you most fear you resemble? THANK YOU! Yes.... obviously I don't know why a buzz takes so long. It depends if people are passing on the buzz or not. best music advice - if you like something, it is right. Don't let others change your mind I've never had women advice. I grew up with 2 big sisters. I know what makes them work. My Dad

Hi John, Upon finally hearing the full album version of "2nd for the 1st time," I could not help but immediately thinking that this song could perhaps be John's answer to Jim Croce's "New York's not my home" and that you were trying to say, "Hey, Jim, NY's not so bad." Would you say that is true at all? I have been listening to them back to back, Jim's first and then yours. I couldn't help but hear a bit of him in your work. I think it's the quiet, gentle, delicate and understated nature of both his songs and yours. Do you see this at all? Sorry for comparisons, I know artists generally don't like it. We fans just can't help it sometimes. And for me at least the Croce comparison is a definite compliment... One of my all-time favorites! Thanks, Missy XOXO Never heard that song and never heard of him. Sorry. Must have not crossed the atlantic

What was your inspiration for Alexander & Annabel? I used to go running along the east river in NYC all the way from 23rd St to Williamsburg Bridge. Under the bridge was a park where I used to sit for 10 mins before heading back. On the bench where I always sat was written in graffiti "ALexander loves Annabel". It always made me think about whether they were still together and who they were. With the trains and traffic crashing across the bridge above me and all the sirens that are constantly sounding around NYC, and with the tramps and bums shouting in the park, I always thought it was its own little innocent NYC love story. Then one day I got to the bench and it had been cleaned and A&A were gone forever, along with the innocence of NYC and even in some way, my own innocence. NYC had toughened me up, along with A & A.
