Thank you thank you thank you for answering our questions. Soooo nice of you! Loved your answers, they're all great. Those in particular... (you have quite a beautiful way with words, doesn't get unnoticed): I used to go running along the east river in NYC all the way from 23rd St to Williamsburg Bridge. Under the bridge was a park where I used to sit for 10 mins before heading back. On the bench where I always sat was written in graffiti "ALexander loves Annabel". It always made me think about whether they were still together and who they were. With the trains and traffic crashing across the bridge above me and all the sirens that are constantly sounding around NYC, and with the tramps and bums shouting in the park, I always thought it was its own little innocent NYC love story. Then one day I got to the bench and it had been cleaned and A&A were gone forever, along with the innocence of NYC and even in some way, my own innocence. NYC had toughened me up, along with A & A.I am not looking for a label but if one came along that spoke the same language as me, then I would listen. Unfortunately most labels speak a language I have no intention of ever learning. Your attitude towards the music industry impresses me a lot. "No price too high to pay for the privilege of owning yourself"* - true, but it definitely takes a lot of strength and will-power. *That was Nietzsche, by the way. Its my mates pub. It was fun. Not serious at all. Much more Club Tropicana than Life gets in the way ;D **************************************************** Questions: I heard a rumor that James Blunt is working on his third album...will you be working with him on this album? I worked on some of the new tracks. Hopefully they will make the album James Blunt, Newsletter 01/02/2010: Okay, if I were a man I'd rather be 'flirting' with Mrs Imbruglia than Mr Blunt, and only because you were wearing tutu's and funny hats, I'd consider this proper work too ;D. Yet, here's hoping you'll be part of the recording of Blunty's forthcoming album. Any plans on that one? Yes its a ridiculously catchy new song. Not very "me" though so probably one for the vault. We'll see Admittedly, "ridiculously catchy" is not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of your songs. Yet, I hope this one will see the light of day at some point. Don't store it away in your vault, please. I wonder which of your songs you consider very "me" (not me of course, "you" in this case). They're all so different but all pretty much "you" in one way or another I think. Anyway, if you had to choose just three that are "you" the most, which songs would it be? And if you had to send 3 of your songs to a record label (one that speaks the same language as you) in order to get a record deal, would it be the same 3 songs? PS: I would like to duet with Prince. Or Francis Dunnery I can totally see you doing a duet with Francis Dunnery (when? where?), I have a bit of a hard time, though, picturing you and Prince on stage together, no idea why - still, I wouldn't mind seeing this!!

I didn't know Cosmos had an EP Hey John, This is cool! I had no idea about it. How many of these guys did you press? Would it be possible to find a copy anywhere? What songs are on this? Are there any b-sides or tracks on it that didn't make it onto "Cosmos?" Cool pic... My parents have a tiny, little, antique harpsichord spinet (I think that's the term for it) that belonged to my great, great grandmother... It is soo cute and sounds sweet... Not that any of us know how to play it, but anyway, it's about that size and is really ornately carved. Is this a harpsochord and did you use it on any of the tracks for Cosmos? If so, which ones?

Later better than never: Thanks so much, John, for spending some of your free time here answering all our questions. Quite interesting info So, another question (I can't help myself LOL sorry ): As you did with Dreamstealers and Go, did you take anything from old Budapest demos and mixed it with any track of Cosmos or Departures? How would be a videoclip of A&A if you had all the money and things you need to do it? Congratulations for you and Pernille, thanks for showing the pic of your more-than-beautiful son. How is the mum and the little Viktor? And you? ;D ;D Hi everyone. Ooops. Left this way too long. sorry anyway, "I Want You" i used a lot of the demo sounds. "Lost" I used the guitar I played on the old demo "Cold Coffee" has the same intro noise as my demo. On "Go" I also used a lot of the sound effects from "Riding The Black Waves" demo. Cosmos has lots of bits from the demos on it. "Testimony" has the original guitars from the demo. PLus a lot more. And "Below The Radar" and "Bugs To The Light" has the original cello Pete played on the demos. A&A video would be set in NYC with 2 kid actors surrounded by criminals trying to tempt them to do bad things but they don't. Until right at the end when they give in and it all falls apart

I have no idea about this. It's nothing to do with me. We recorded 18 songs for Cosmos so there were 6 left over. "So Wrong So Right" was one of them that I gave away as a free download a few years ago. The others were just not good enough. One of them was a version of "So Close" Its a kids toy piano. I used it in the middle section of Below The Radar. That is what I am recording in the picture

(The most important question yet ) How does it feel to be a dad??? ;D I have tried. But i get rejected every year. It's tough without a label to get on i was already a record holder. I played 18 gigs in a day when I was 18. its great. But so tiring. Its a constant fight with sleep but with a smile on my face

Hey John THANK YOUUUUU for replying to our questions yet another time. It's always great to hear from you. Hope all is wonderful in your world (despite the lack of sleep). All the best for your upcoming U.S. Tour - Enjoy the ride (might not be quite as crazy as this one www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-BSsrJwmnQ&feature=fvw , but who knows... ) Wish I could come and see you but unfortunately it's all a bit 'out of the way' for me . Looking forward to your 'closer to home'-shows then *sigh*, got no choice anyway. Take care and... I keep you in mind. Always listening Jade XOXO

Thanks for answering all of our questions, John! It really means a lot to all of us. 3 "me" songs would be "Go" "Testimony" "So Close". But I wouldn't bother sending them to a label as they would just say no thanks. This is a sad statement about the industry. Obviously, I know nothing about the industry and all I know is what I like, but if I had a label, I would sign you in a heartbeat. I know this goes for all of your fans who fall in love with your music the second they hear it. Is it all just dollars and cents and middle-aged wankers in Armani suits who wouldn't know good music if it slapped them in the face? Maybe I'm getting old and have no idea what the teenagers listen to now, but I am so over mediocre pop drivel that the labels churn out. I know that there is an audience out there just waiting for John Garrison and they don't even know it. I know there is room in the market for John Garrison, it's just a matter of exposure and press and all of that PR stuff, that I'm guessing John really isn't that into (which, of course, is part of his charm). Sidebar: I would also sign Akeal... Hmmm, maybe if I win the lottery, I will switch careers and start a label. Of course, then again, in these days, who needs a label? So many bands are doing it on their own. Perhaps the trend will force the labels to figure out how to restructure (or whatever the business lingo is). Sorry for rambling in the question It is leading to a question... Why do you think they would say no thanks? There have to be at least a couple of people in the biz who have good ears. Perhaps I would make a very bad executive but I just don't see how the industry can produce songs like "Poker Face" but pass on a song like "So Close." I just don't get it, no offense to Lady Gaga but she is no Johnny G! Do you think the industry can change or will? Or even cares to?
