Here it is a mixed crowd. Overall, very mistrustful of newcomers, with the occasional insincere friendly gesture. Quite a few vicious gossipers. But also some very nice genuinely friendly people. We raised alot of eyebrows when we moved here because we came from Las Vegas (this is the 'Bible Belt'). But I actually grew up in a town only 25 miles from here, so once that spread around town, people were a little less cold. It made me ashamed of this place because I had been telling my husband how wonderful and warm the people are in the Midwest, then when we moved here, I had to eat my words. I was still young when I left here, so I guess I had different a different view of people that I had known my whole life. I chalk it up to being older and wiser about human nature. I think people are pretty much the same no matter where you go: Some good....Some bad. You just have to stay away from the bad ones......just be as nice as you can......(eventually they will either get over themselves, get used to you, or die out!!!) ......and search for the good ones!!!!! People were so completely terrible to me in Las Vegas that I was positively convinced that there were no good people left in this world. It's a shame you have to look so hard to find them! But once you do, just surround yourself with them and the others seem to fade away. And, you always have your friends here on the board to talk to. That's why I like it in here so much. You all seem to be the best kind of people!

Well I try to be positive... I will move soon anyway, so I hope it will be better. It can only be better elsewhere! Las Vegas must be exciting! I could never imagine living there but I am sure that at least it is not boring.

Excellent! What will you study?
I lived in small village for 2 years, and I never felt well. I'm a city-person, I can't live without the noisy, vibrant and amazing rhythm of the city.

lol.. don't remind me of my driving lessons.. it took me more than a year to get it. Failed my first try. Since theory expires after one year, I had to do that again, wait another 3 months for being able to try the practice again and passed without problems...
And I got my license 10 years ago, back then it was already 1500 euro or more, I really don't want to know what people have to pay these days to take lessons.
But prices here are probably highest because of the actual costs for the people that teach driving. Cars are more expensive here than in Germany, the adjusted cars for driving lessons 10 years ago were around 50.000 Euro and gas prices are still higher here than in Germany. Average gas price is around 1.37 per liter for Euro95 and 1.45 for Super.
USA is around 3$ a Gallon which should be around 2.35 euro per 4 liter

I once had a student that confided in me that her parents had just announced to her that they were getting a divorce.......and I burst into tears!!!! It is just that she was exactly the same age I was when I got the exact same news so I actually knew what she was going through. Still very unprofessional and embarassing for me!

Yet so human I would rather have a counselor who could understand my problems than someone who would keep 100% distance and couldnt share emotions. As long as you don't take the problems of others home with you, I think it isn't really that unprofessional to show your emotions

Anyone from this board is going??? Well, I don't have a friend with a birthday that day, nor have I planned a trip to Mexico and since my "most special person" will be coming with me, I guess there's nothing in the way then!!! Flights aren't that expensive from Berlin to Copenhagen (about 90€) plus it's a weekend, so no need to ask for a day off from work. Unfortunately, the only hotel that Google lists in Valby has no rooms available on the day in question. Shouldn't be a problem, though, there are many other and rather nice hotels nearby. Haven't booked a room yet, but will do so tomorrow. Gonna be a special evening methinks....ROLL ON JUNE!!!!
